Good morning all,
Per ...
More specifically: replacing 38S revolvers with 9mm Handgun System pistols that are modular.
Was not familiar that these hand guns had difficulty to conceal levels.
Good pictures are in article.
Note "(SAC) Elite Guards ... in charge of protecting ..."
It's that modularity that will win the next war; not drones replacing the old flying machines. Reminder: Airlift the gunsmith shops to readily [sic] swap out the frame ... Don't forget the airliftable shop for the blank firing kits.
When "cost and complexities" are from the payroll, imagination not required. Am avoiding current events here.
Humor: "[sound] suppression kits".

USAF ditching Cold War revolvers
Re: USAF ditching Cold War revolvers
Earlier they used the Colt M13, quite deadly - to the users.
Re: USAF ditching Cold War revolvers
Good morning Wm,
Good point; yes, dangerous to the users.
The pistol on the You Tube link looks like the slightly older "snub nose" detective revolver made famous by the television programs here. It's that USAF symbol on the weapon that does wonders for the value.
Much of all this is "fad" - the current "style" of the day.

Re: USAF ditching Cold War revolvers
I read that as "USAF ditching in cold water." I had a urge to call my bro.
Re: USAF ditching Cold War revolvers
Good morning OpanaPointer,
Don't worry. If the Ray Ban crowd were to crash in cold water, they merely have to put on the cold water exposure suits. They are modular and probably not loaded on the aircraft.
As an aside, do you remember if Jack Webb of LAPD, with "snub nose" 38S, was a movie or a television series or both ? I forgot.
