Good morning all,

Important: Above link has some quality history and pictures and also some current events. Please do not comment on the current stuff. I find some good history articles yet much current events packed into articles. We must work around the off-limits areas and address the history.

Per ...

A good article with some good pictures and maps.

As per author, Diego Garcia also protects the British from organized crime.

Humor: "In 1966,...America signed an agreement without Congressional ... oversight". More humor: "America waived $14 million relative to an order of Polaris submarine missiles heading for England (Where is Holy Loch ?).

Can the picture caption "The Chagos Islands looks like Paradise but has a dark history" be used elsewhere ? Everywhere ?

Article mentions Bikini Atoll.

Don't confuse the mentioned Kwajalein Island with the similarly pronounced French Kerguelen Island(s), French Antarctic Territory.

Not sure how CNN can say Diego Garcia has "close proximity to the Middle East".

I recall a civilian aircraft of South African Airways made an emergency landing on Diego Garcia.
