Iranian General Qassem Suleimanii, the head of Iran's elite had been killed in a US airstrike at Baghdad International Airport. I wonder if the U.S. is going to war against Iran? What a way to start the new year 2020!

Hi,
I agree with Waleed. But my question is about equipment, not politics. What is the huge waistbelt he is wearing? It should taken in the US Embassy in Iran. Source: Iltalehti 03/01/20.
thanks

Ladies and Gentlemen, the US military is about to go to war with Iran after tension between the two countries. I'm interested in military history both present and past conflicts not politics. Iran had learned a lot from past conflicts over the years and is not an easy country to tackle and defeat. Military equipment of both sides are interesting to learn.

This General was one really evil and smart man. it is good he is dead. On the other hand the Iranians are going to hit back it's just a question of when, were and how.

The Pentagon has deployed a task force of special operations troops that includes Army Rangers to the Middle East, a Defense official said, adding to the buildup in the region following the U.S. killing of Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani.

The move comes alongside the deployment of a brigade of 4,000 paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division to Kuwait as President Donald Trump threatens more military strikes and as U.S. bases in the Middle East go on high alert.

Here's something from May 2019:
The Pentagon recently presented a military plan to the president’s top national security aides that calls for up to 120,000 troops deploying to the Middle East and a potential crippling cyber-attack on Iran’s infrastructure should Iran speed up its nuclear program or attack U.S. forces.

Details of the briefing were first reported by the New York Times, which cited more than half a dozen American national security officials, granted anonymity, who have been briefed on the updated plans.

But today, President Donald Trump brushed aside the Times reporting in comments to the press.

“I think it’s fake news. OK? Now would I do that? Absolutely. But we have not planned for that. Hopefully, we’re not gonna have to plan for that, and if we did that, we’d send a hell of a lot more troops than that,” Trump said.

The updated plan comes as Iranian President Hassan Rouhani last week gave the remaining signatories to the 2015 nuclear deal 60 days to come up with a plan to buffer his country from sanctions imposed by Trump when he pulled out of the deal last year.

The U.S. drone strike that killed the Iranian Quds Force commander, Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, was a bold move with potentially far-reaching consequences. It unquestionably heightens the risk of war; it could also open the door to diplomacy.
