Hi I found this information:
Following the Soviet–Afghan War, the West German soldiers stationed in Afghanistan left the country. Qualified West German personnel and advisors left the country in 1980 followed by teaching staff in 1984
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghanist ... s#Post-war
how many Bundeswehr soldiers were in Afghanistan till 1980s ? Are any photos of them (how were they uniformed etc.)?

I doubt that there were any Bundeswehr soldiers in Afghanistan before 1980. That wikipedia article gives no source for that claim.

Todesfälle in der Bundeswehr infolge des Dienstes / Deaths in the Bundeswehr as a result of service

A frightening result for an army, that was originally intended for national defense.
What (the fuck!) are our soldiers supposed to do in Mali.. ?
(Do any of you know this country, unfortunately, I don't..?)

Re: Bundeswehr in Afghanistan before 1980
As soldiers and paramedics in the Bundeswehr, we had to mourn two comrades.
One comrade was run over by a driving school tank in his machine gun shelter, the other comrade was cut in two in the turret of the Marder infantry fighting vehicle.
I'll spare us the details, we had to get both comrades out properly and take care of them.
Tanks are overpowering, we were given three days of special leave for these salvage operations, the details do not belong here.
Sometimes I still dream that today, I've suppressed most of it, which is good.
