"This time, "Military Acceptance" is sent to the country's main artillery training center, the Mikhailovsky Military Artillery Academy. Established in 1820 after understanding the wars with Napoleon, the academy for 200 years remains the main forge of artillery personnel of the country. Moreover, very effective personnel: according to the head of the Academy, the share of fire damage to the enemy by artillery forces in a special military operation by the beginning of 2023 approached the figure of 80 percent."

80% (figure similar to the Italian front in WW2), if this is close to the truth than it is lower than I would have expected. The manner in which the Russian forces has been fighting makes it look more like 95%!
....according to the RU.

Kind of big caveat there, comrade ?

Care to give us any information or support why you think 95% is the magic # ?

FYI :the Cold War is over and there are less communists in Russia than in the US or Western Europe . Putin is not a communist .
Thus, why calling some one who disagrees with you, a communist ?

OK, well the Europeans as a whole support US policy on UKR, therefore, by your own logic, they should support UKR.

Thanks for agreeing with me.

Or you could say the US supports Poland's, the Baltic states, the Nordic states, the Czechs and Slovaks and the UK's policy on Ukraine.
Most of the rest of Europe seems to have been dragged into the support of Ukraine.

It is the opposite : The Nordic States,UK,Czechs (maybe ) ,Slovaks (maybe ) support the US intervention in the Ukrainian war :the initiative came from DC ,where the military-industrial complex saw in this war a big opportunity to make a lot of money .The longer the war,the better for them ..
The support of France, Spain, Italy, Germany is almost insignificant .
Poland and the Baltics are safe because they are members of NATO,and ,if they were not members of NATO, they would also be safe .Russia is to weak to defeat them ,thus it will not attack them .

The Europeans as a whole do not support US policy on UKR, notwithstanding the pressure from DC : it takes them a year to decide to send an unknown number of tanks ,tanks in an unknown condition,to Ukraine and they are unwilling to say when these tanks will arrive .The UK ,with a Conservative Woodrow Wilson as PM , is not Europe .
A Russian victory (which is almost excluded ) will have the same result as a Russian defeat .
Given the support for UKR, along with many polls other posters have shown, I think you are wrong - most of Europe supports arming UKR.

A RU victory will inflame the new cold war even more, with increased military expenditures. A RU defeat will likely have the opposite effect.

Its called "wry". Dry, sardonic humor. Cult Icon continues his breathless posting of RU vehicles and regales us with tales of mighty RU performances.

"Ukrainians are a 1.5 ! Russians are a 4 ! Russia is going to win no matter what ! Anything that says otherwise is western propaganda!"

Etc, etc.

The fact is no one know how the will ultimately play out. I am willing to bet the cost to recover will be immense, to detriment of the world.

Putin can end this war tomorrow. Wouldnt that be ideal ?

Strictly speaking, yes, this forum should focus almost completely on battlefield movement and activity. Politics has infiltrated the discussions and those speculations. should now be limited (to the extent possible).

That said, this is a very important discussion forum. Considering the profound implications of the ultimate result of this conflict, the forum should probably remain regardless, barring wholesale profanity and baseless assertions.

Looks like Vuledar is the next 'fortified zone' that will be under continuous attack. Russia is starting to trash the city with MLRS, artillery, and air strikes. Russian press is there recording footage and Ukrainian social media of the situation inside the city is appearing.

Right wing Z-Oblast is occupied by a lot of Russian marines and the DPR.

Ukrainian sources only identifies 2 Ukr brigades in the Vuledar area

https://militaryland.net/news/invasion-day-340-summary/

The Kherson Oblast has been stripped of Ukr units, everything sent to the Donbass, in particular against Wagner.

The real mystery is how Wagner is capable of tying down so many Ukr formations.

There are a lot of rumors and speculations about their tactical methods.

Hi Cult Icon,

You say, "The real mystery is how Wagner is capable of tying down so many Ukr formations."

If true, no mystery. Wagner are the only part of the Russian forces showing any significant offensive intent at the moment.

However, I doubt Wagner is tying down that many Ukrainians. Ukraine had mobilized 700,000 men by last summer and presumably more since. Wagner is only about 40,000 strong and needs at least 3:1 odds to secure a reasonable prospect of offensive success, so it is likely to be tying down smaller Ukrainian forces.

It is likely that both Russia and Ukraine are conserving and training their main forces for future offensive operations.

Cheers,

Sid.

Most of Europe ??
What have given Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Hungary, Romania ?
About a Russian victory : even if Ukraine would capitulate ( and the chance for this is 0,00001 % ),this would not benefit Russia ,as it has not the needed manpower to occupy and pacify Ukraine . The length of the Ukrainian borders is 7000 km,of which 1400 with the EU . How will Russia protect these borders and prevent infiltrations by the OUN ?After WW2,Ukraine had no borders with the West, but still the OUN continued to fight till 1950 .
The war against Ukraine and the occupation of that country ( how long would this occupation be needed ? ) would weaken Russia to an extent that it would not be a danger for the West .The West would not need increased military expenditures and Russia could not afford increased military expenditures . It is also doubtful that Europe and the US could afford bigger military expenditures : which European government will risk to increase taxes ?And US ? They spend yearly a trillion of USD on defense related projects ,where will they get the needed money ?
Besides :Central and Eastern Europe need to export to and import from Russia :Germany can not survive without coal, gas and oil from Russia, whatever may say the Greens .

About Germany : recently the president of the Confederation of German Employers'Association said that very soon the German pension system will collapse (main reason : not enough young people ) .
And the pensions in Germany are very low :in 2016 48% of German retirees (8,5 million people ) had a pension of less than 800 Euro a month and 64 % had a pension of less than 1000 Euro a month .( 11,5 million people ) .
More than 1,1 million retirees must work to survive ,and a third of the present working women will later have a pension of less than 1000 Euro .
Now the German government is talking about increasing the defense budget by 100 billion Euro ( in other words :increasing taxes by 100 billion Euro ) :what will be the reaction of the population, especially the pensioners ?
People have the greatest problems to find money for warming and the government would risk to increase taxes by an average of 1200 Euro ?
Will Germans accept to pay more taxes which will go to Ukraine ?
