In the 1950s, were there any polls which suggested that a majority of Americans considered world domination by the US or any European colonial power an impossibility?

supporting right wing dictatorships in the Arab World and in ASia
Actually, the Arab-American strategic cooperation began in 1944 when Aramco (Arabian American Oil Co.) was created.
That was amplified in 1950 when the so-called Golden Gimmick (50 percent tax break) was granted to Saudi Arabia by Harry Truman.
The cooperation provided stability for decades in the inherently tribal and unstable Arab Penisula.

Ironically, in 1948 the same Harry Truman created Israel by caving in to heavy Jewish pressure that threatened his 1948 reelection.
In this, he was supported by the other guy Joseph Stalin, who hoped the heavily leaning left (at that time) Israel would be his Trojan horse in the Western World.

But simultaneously, Truman wrote (in a letter to Mrs. Roosevelt):
I fear very much that the Jews are like all underdogs. When they get on top, they are just as intolerant and as cruel as the people were to them when they were underneath. I regret this situation very much because my sympathy has always been on their side.
And then, in a cabinet meeting:
Jesus Christ couldn’t please them when he was on earth, so how could anyone expect that I would have any luck?

Now the US Military is stationed in over 130 countries....THE US Eceomeny Economy cant support that many missions forever....
Yet Another Lie , many of your 130 countries are using military embassy attaches as being 'stationed" 2-4 soldiers @ say the Kenyan Embassy are not an occupation or garrison force
There's a satellite relay station somewhere near Darwin, Australia, that is "proof" that the US is "occupying" Australia. My Aussie friends were slightly surprised to hear they were a slave state of the US now.
