Historical Exchange Rate before WW2?

#1

Post by Windward » 11 Aug 2003, 08:07

Hey guys, I read some books and calculated the exchange rate of several currencies before WW2. It's easy to find out historical exchange rates between pound, dollar, franc and mark. But it's difficult for me to find out the exchange rates between major currencies any other currencies of minor countries, such as Swiss Franc, Danish Krone, Sweden Krona, Finnish Mark, Estonian and Czech Krone, Hungarian Pengo, Zloty, Escudo, Gulden, Pesetas, Drachma, Turkish Pound, Latvian Latu, etc. Any help would be grateful. TIA!

Jasen

PS, I calculated the exchange rates of some major currency before 1939.

One US Dollar was equal to
0.25 GBP (5 Shillings)
0.7 Gold Rubles
2 Yen or Manchurian Dollars
2.5 Reichsmarks
5 French Francs
20 Liras
20 China Yuan (1942)

My calculation might be wrong, especially the exchange rate between Dollar and Lira. I guess it's 1:18 or 1:20. But I could not find any more information about it.
