A hint:

The sabotage I mentioned meant detonating explosives on a railway line.

Think it must be the so called Kwantung incident?

Esa K

(PS. The mentioned comic book should be Hergés Blue Lotus DS.)

Well, the incident is named, AFAIK, either Manchuria Incident or Mukden Incident. But since it involved the Kwantung Army, I say our answer is correct; especially as you knew the comic book in question ;-)

Congratulations and please take over.

Thanks Tapani

...guess you too are a great fan of Hergé.

(...and, of course you are correct, its called the Manchuria or Mukden incident, just mixed it up the name with the name of the army involved.... )

New Q:

3/1 1921 - 2/7 1937. What is this time frame about...?

Esa, are you referring to Amelia Earhart's flying career? From her first flying lesson to her disappearance.

That was fast, but what else to expect from what I have found here, a bunch of aviation enthusiasts.

Of course it is Amelia E`s career as a pilot it´s about.

So, back, from Esa K to Tapani K.

Thank you, Esa.

Once more a "who is he" -question:

This military commander staged a coup d'état and four years after the event he was nominated officially the ruler of his country. He founded a dynasty but his son, who succeeded him, was the last ruler of his line.

No, no. I asked a question about him not long ago; I wouldn't be devious enough to ask about him again ;-)

Yes, Reza Khan, later known as Reza Shah Pahlavi. I was kinda hoping that I would be able post a hint today, but no. The hint would have referred to Reza Khan having been a commander of Cossack Brigade (some sources say division). I thought this might have been a suitably confusing hint ;-)

Anyways, Juha, well done and please take over.

Tapani K.

Thanks Tapani,

A lucky guess just on time, before your "helping" hint. :)
A new one, and as surprise to everyone: name the plane
