Name the weapon they also could have used.

Bingo!
The name derives from the fact that there is a very heavy operating lever below the barrel which swings in a half arc. If the tripod is set too low, or the earth happens to be soft at the point of mounting, under progressive fire the tripod burrows in and the operating lever will churn up the ground.

I don't know, but it might well (red colour) be as the company that sold these potato diggers also sold Zetors. Cases and IIRC Sames too at that time.

BTW, I happen to own two potato diggers the type like at the pics. The other is Reime (from 1980's) from.... :) ...Norway and the other is a Soviet origin: (from either 1936 or 1937, I have the manual, but could not found it) a living proof that an old Finnish phrase: " No Soviet mechanical machine is reliable, if it has more moving parts than a steel bar" is not correct.

Over to Milorg

Regards, Juha

Q:
Norways "Polar Imperialism" created a conflict with a close neighbour in the mid inter war era.
Which area did the dispute concern?
Which country was the neighbour?
How was it setteled(sp?)?

Do you mean the case of Eastern Greenland? The area disputed was, as the name implies, in eastern part of Greenland and the argument was between Norway and Denmark. The matter was brought to the International Court of Justice. The verdict was given in 1933 with Denmark ruled as winner in the case.

Thank you.

Once more, an identification question: who is mr X?

Mr X was a ruler who wanted to reform his country but armed opposition and civil war forced him to abdicate after ten years of rule. The opposing forces were defeated by mr X's cousin, who succeeded mr X.

Tapani K.

Okey, a hint:

Mr X rose to the throne in 1919 and there is a specific point connected to this thread why I asked this question (other than and in addition to this being an Inter-war Era quiz thread).

Another hint or two:

Mr X died in Switzerland in the 1960's.

His present-day successor as a head of state is well-known, among others things, for his sartorial elegance.
