They probably used Russian weapons, whatever they used. I can't really imagine the North Koreans pouring weapons of their own design out of their factories. :D

The North Koreans used Chinese PPSH's and Moison-Nagants. The Chinese SKS may have been issued in limited numbers, BUT NO AK47!

weapons

:D panzer ,the North Koreans use a wide varity of weapons. As mentioned by others they used soviet/chinese ppsh's,Mosin Nagants[ m91/30, long rifle,m44,a carbine version of the 91 /30]they also used Mauser Rifles[k98and the Chinese copy of it].Some N K units also used Japannies weapons[type 38 and type 99 rifles]They also used Soviet Maxim machine guns and anti-tank rifles. They were also supplied with T34/85 and SU 76 by the Soviets. As far as the SKS is concerned I an under the impression that they did not come into wide use till the mid1950's,AK were also not in wide use till the same period.I hope this help a bit.

The CHinese SKS was called model 1956, so I do not think that it got to see action in Korea.
