Does anyone know why croatia joined the war, what were their interests in central europe?

Yep, the way they used to tie a special knot to their scarves. "Everybody" started to copy that "vie en Croat"(or something)-knot. Croat-----kravat!. Simsalabim, necktie was invented.

I learned that it came from the romans who tied scarves around their neck to keep warm. Perhaps it took the way round croatia?

OK Croatian were the mercenaries payed by astro hungerins to fight against the germans also they went cos they were catolik against the protestants. They were one of the best solders there if i might add.

Also the nektie was invened by Croatians spread it aroud everyone thinks it done by french in 17-18 century ohhhhhhhhhhhh god !!!!!

Thank you for the information Wolffen! However, that they were the best soldiers could be questioned. As far as i know they were feared by their enemies because of their cruelty and their way of showing no mercy. Actually the swedish word 'krabat' comes from that time, the word is usually something one call disobidient children.
