Pvt. Lempinen, Viljo of I Platoon: while in the front line he took a bullet in his head from his own SMG that went off as he jumped in a communications trench. He was taken to the field dressing station of JR8.

06.30hrs Situation report to Er.P.3.
14.00hrs Coy CO set out with II Platoon leader Res. 2nd Lt. Pusa to liaise at the Merkki sector with Col.Lt. Hagelberg. The Div. Had ordered that one Platoon was to be constantly held at the Merkki sector for AT duty. At the same time the Coy CO and Res.2nd Lt. Pusa reconnoitered the terrain to define the places for AT positions.
15.00hrs Situation report to Er.P.3: nothing special.
20.15hrs Coy Co and 2nd Lt Pusa returned.
The Company was in dugout building work. Nothing special otherwise.

06.00hrs II Platoon sent out for AT duty to the Merkki sector. At the same time the I Platoon at the Lähde sector was relieved by the IV Platoon
06.30hrs Situation report to Er.P.3.
The Company at dugout building work.
15.00hrs Situation report to Er.P.3. Five enemy a/c flew over the cantonment area.
16.30hrs MG Platoon subordination to the Company ended by Btn order. The MG Platoon received a new task (to relieve the MGs in the front line).
