Showing all of the starboard side would require a boat, hope to get one in due course...

This is how much you can see the starboard side without a boat.

Good Day!
These are great pictures thankyou. My sub project is on hold. I have started another project and that is a 1/6 Ju-88 in Finnish colours. Plans are from http://www.cdscaledesigns.com out of Germany. I am having them enlarged a bit from the 1/6.5 scale. Right now I am trying to source 1/6 Finnish uniforms . There is very little published on the flight uniforms of the Finnish airforce. Looks like a mixture of indigenous Finnish , German and some British equipment worn.
I appreciate the pics as they are probably the best I have seen even in some publications.
Best Regards from Toronto (23deg C )

Film "Meidän poikamme merellä" (1933) will be shown on Finnish television channel TV2 on June 5th 2010. It's not available on DVD but since the director/writer Erkki Karu died in 1935 there's no copyright on the parts without music pieces. Georg Malmstén wrote some of those specially for this movie and he died as late as 1981.

The movie feature gunboat Uusimaa, coastal defence ship Väinämöinen, submarine Iku-Turso (with excellent inside shots) and training ship Suomen Joutsen.

Vesikko renovated

#52

Post by Hanski » 29 Jun 2013, 22:10

Vesikko was renovated to the war time color scheme during the spring of 2013, and also armed with the Madsen cannon in front of the conning tower.

Well worth seeing, if you have the opportunity to visit Suomenlinna on your trip to Helsinki.

Cheers,

Hanski
