I'm not able to find information about Rajakoulu 6 (in rovaniemi) from beginning of 1941 in the digital archive. Do any of you guys know if these have been made public?

According to National Archive's VAKKA-database, they do not have such war diary in their collection at all. AARRE-database is only aware of one Rajakoulu which operated during years 1956-1996. Also it seems that such unit did not have unit number[s] (peiteluku). Are you sure about the name?

Hmm, I checked the paper and it actually says: R.V.6 (Rovaniemi).

Rajavartiosto 6 operated from 1943 to 1945. Again, National Archive does not have any records of its war diaries, but some other documents can be viewed at their Sörnäinen office.

Does anybody know why some item has disappeared from digi.narc.fi?
I'm searching for Talvisodan sotapäiväkirjat: SPK 758 Ilmapuolustus, 8735.SARK and cannot find it.

They first removed it from the listing but the links still worked. After a while they either removed the files from the server or changed their name so that the old links do not work anymore. I suspect that they thought they might have some problems with the copyright as the diary in question was actually a book containing official documents rather than a war diary.

The diary is not listed in the National Archive's database. Either it was destroyed during the War, was not even written or disappeared into the depths of the Archive. You best bet is to look into the company files at the National Archive or read the diary and daily reports of the unit of which the company was subordinated (III AK in this case).

Yeah ive tried to read those but the higher in the hierarchy you get the less details there is ,,guess there isnt any available for the first 1,5months of the war around Kuusamo area , ive ordered my granddads "kantakortti" , maybe that will reveal if they maybe belonged other unit and 35.RajaK was even formed 1,5months in the war..
thx for your reply though..

I can not see pictures of the pages of the war diaries any more. I see only white where a picture should be. Any ideas why?

I went to the Rauhankatu office and asked personally to do something about the problem and it seems that they have now fixed it!

I have enquired the possibility of digitising microfilm rolls F 100/1-68 and F 102/1-213 from the head of National Archive's digitising program. If they are digitised, we have access to following material online:

- Monthly summaries of fortifications build during the Winter, Continuation and Lapland War.
- Daily combat, supply and weather reports from divisional level upwards.
- Various Finnish and German tactical and technical studies.
- Finnish translations of Soviet literature.
- Intelligence reports.
- Maps, maps and maps.
