Re: RTR 4
Guys, my question is: why did the Finns decide to make such huge round gun pits with central mounting shaft in Ruopaoja for 4 x 122 K/31 guns, which were in fact field guns on wheels and needed no pits like that? Was it so that initially the Finns planned to position a kind of stationary guns there, but later changed their plans and placed wheeled field guns instead?
The pits are quite big, they would easily house if not 10 in. Durlacher guns, but at least 6 in. Canet. Additionally there is a circle steel rail on concrete basement closer to walls of the pit.

Hi!
Great photos you have posted earlier! Nice view over Lake Onega.
Well... big guns require big pits. AFAIK the pits were designed for that gun type.

Terve Juha,
Actually it was not me who posted modern pictures of batteries, but our colleague from Petrozavodsk - we have similar nicks.
Many thanks for your pictures - after seeing them everything looks quite logic. Central basement with shaft was needed to fix the gun on its position and prevent it from jumping after every shot, and to rotate the gun fast for aiming. Circular metal rail was used to place spades and again, for easier rotating the gun.
Actually we saw only one gun pit of Ruoppaoja battery last weekend, but it looks it was the most well-preserved one. Are all 4 gun pits remained or only 3?

Re: RTR 4
Terve guys, I decided to place here some pictures from Lukkosaari made in June 2021. Probably you'll be interested to have a look.
Let's move from south to north, co-ordinates are mentioned in files' names:
Unknown steel frame lying under concrete pieces just near southern gun emplacement. Looking like frame of narrow-gauge rail car:
Southern 6 in. Canet gun emplacement; heavily damaged, but steel cupola remained:
