The gunpit:

Munition cellars consisted of 2 bigger chambers and 2 smaller ones, the smaller had sliding doors:

The smaller chamber:

The bigger one:

After brief cleaning of gun pedestal. Sorry, there were only 2 of us with no chainsaw, so we couldn't remove fallen trees.

The central pipe we once discussed is in place, and this time it is threaded on the outside:

This was a command/range-finding post of the battery, but it looks it was never completed and then heavily damaged with explosion. Located at 61.05952, 35.64743:

And here is the second gunpit of the battery at 61.05929, 35.64679. It was not completed either and now more overgrown:

A trench leading to the gunpit and unknown thick pipe there:

Before and after cleaning:

The central pipe was also present, but it was filled with earth and roots, which we failed to remove from inside, so the pipe was not visible:

This position is a question, at least for me. It is located at 61.06727, 35.64853, around 850 m from 2 previous positions, which is quite far, so I do not think it related to the same battery. Second, the type of gun was obviously different than Canet. Is there any info about this gun in the archives?

I think it was electrical booth on the left side of the entrance:

Ammo cellars are of different design:

DSCN6119.JPG

Note the gunpit walls are of different hight, the left wall with cellars is higher:

Gun pedestal is obviously different from 2 previous ones. Note it is not round:

DSCN6123.JPG
DSCN6126.JPG

The pipe is located aside:

DSCN6128.JPG

But the pipe/cable is linked with gun pedestal a bit strange way:

DSCN6132.JPG

Just 25 m behind the gun position there was another position of unknown purpose at 61.06726, 35.64803:

As this position is covered with earth, I marked the studs:

DSCN6137 Предположительно позиция прожектора, 61.06726, 35.64803-2.jpg

Another strange thing was that the studs were of different diameter!

DSCN6140.JPG

There were even 2 pipes in the centre of that basement:

DSCN6139.JPG

Just 5 m from the basement there was a kind of mount ring, but it looked bigger and wouldn't fit the ring with studs:

DSCN6147.JPG

In addition, there was also a kind of electric cabinet nearby aside of unfinished road:

DSCN6156.JPG

View from the other side - I marked the mount ring on the right and the place of ring with studs on the left:

DSCN6157.JPG

My suggestion is it might be a searchlight position, but this is just a guess.

There was also unfinished munition storage nearby:

DSCN6158.JPG
DSCN6160.JPG
DSCN6168.JPG

So I would appreciate your info about this gun position and whatever else built nearby. My colleague from Petrozavodsk, who accompanied me, visited this place several times before, so he was quite sure there was only one gun position in this area.

The next point is Väliniemi battery, 2 x 152 mm Canet. By the way - this is only info I have about that battery, no original name and number, no date when it was built...

The road to the northern gunpit at 61.05982, 35.64777:

41. Raskas patteri. II jaos, (SPK 22186): "25 January 1942. Lieutenant Aromaa received the order to establish a battery in Väliniemi. The battery will initially be a two cannon 152/45-C, but will later be upgraded to four cannons."
25.1.1942. Luutn Aromaa saanut käskyn patterin perustamisesta Väliniemeen. Patteri tulee olemaan aluksi 2-tykkinen 152/45-C, mutta tulee myöhemmin täydennettäväksi 4-tykkiseksi.
The 27 December 1943 map by V Armeijakunta (see above) shows a single Canet in these coordinates. The two other Canets were located in southern coordinates. They were all operated by 41. Raskas patteri. There were also three anti-tank guns and a 50 mm mortar. The 16 February shows another four 47/40 O cannons and 10 September 1943 map two 47/40 O cannons.

Terve Mangrove, and many thanks for the maps you so kindly provided. It will definitely need some more time to analyse those maps. But the point which is still unclear for me, is that all 3 guns on Väliniemi are marked on available maps as (1) one battery, and (2) the type of guns is marked as Canet for all 3 positions. The northern position is definitely not for Canet gun, and it is located too far from the southern positions to draw up a unified battery. And if the decision was made to set up a battery on that place yet in January 1942, then why one of the southern positions was not completed? No idea how to explain all those facts...

However, let's continue with my pictures first, while I did not forget about them.)))

The next point is quite well-known - I was quite sure that Marski once visited that place, and I saw respective pictures, but again I did not find them at SA-kuva. So, this is 4/122K/31 position at Rybreka/Kalajoki/Ruoppaoja. This is the most popular southernmost gunpit at 61.29895, 35.5082:

And yes - view over Onega Lake is the best at that point:

DSCN6309.jpg

This is the main reason why this exactly gunpit is frequently visited and it is not overgrown. 2 others look worse - this is the next to the north at 61.30127, 35.50681. No idea who, when and what for built that hut in the middle of the gunpit:

The most northern gunpit at 61.3028, 35.50564, and it is completely overgrown - there is a road running just 45 m behind 2 gunpits and command post, but if you do not know about the most northern gunpit, you'll never notice it. Here are the best pictures I managed to make:

The central basement:

DSCN6252.JPG

There was the fourth gun position at the south end, but it was destroyed after the war during quarry's expansion.

Yes, a bear, but yet a cub - just 50 m from Petrozavodsk - Voznesenye road.

DSCN6328-1.jpg

The next fortification complex is located on Cape Lakhtinsky between Vehkaoja and Soutjarvi - I guess it would be Lahtiniemi in Finnish. From some sources I learned it was a position of 403. Kev. Ptri. with 4/75K/17, but what we did not find, were exactly gun positions. But the rest is rather impressive.

This observation point is located at 61.42152, 35.35377 and it may be considered as position's centre:
