On a return way to area Hanko are attacked by four fighters. In result воздушногобоя in area of island Bengshter (the absurdity, certainly, turns out that bombers flied from the east on the west!) one has been brought down DB-3. The crew was threw out on parachutes. Corpse of the navigator of lieutenant Malchikov it has been caught in gulf of Finland 7.08.40! It is declared one brought down fighter.

...According to the order we flew on the second of February via Utti to Turku, to the ice of Littoistenjärvi Lake, where we set up our base. Already on the day of arrival after refueling an alarm was given. We flew towards Åland, where according to the report there was a large enemy formation. We did encounter a formation of 23 bombers. I fired at three aircraft, making their coolant liquids spray.

After having spotted our fighters in good visibility the enemy planes turned towards Baltiski and gave the full throttle. Despite all attempts, I could not reach close enough, but had to fire from too far away, when the effect of the fire did not suffice for a kill. Our other planes never got even close enough to make it worthwhile to fire.

Not a 100% match, but close enough, I believe.
At first the Karhunen mentioned glycol spray strongly pointed towards SB's , but perhaps Karhunen misidentified his results.
Probably what he saw as the results of his shooting were oil or gasoline vapours.

Seems that Jorma Karhunen might need (according to his book) to have one "kill" more to be added to his score?

C-F Geust Red Stars 7 writes the following based on Soviet archival sources:

2.2 1940 DB-3 c/n 391712 of 2nd escadrille was shot down in air combat near Hanko. At 14.37 hours four Fokker D.21 fighters made two attacks against nine DB-3s...
...The lefmost bomber piloted by st.lt S.Ya Rozhkov was set on fire (left engine), and the crew of three were seen to escape by parachute...
