Finnish troop arrived from the village Yukkoguba and come under fire. According Buzulutskov report about 15 finnish soldiers were KIA. But 1 partisan - private Simanov (Симанов) was MIA near Tumba. Pentti Pertulli wrote, that 1 partisan was captured. At this point it became known to the Finns about approximate number of partisans and target of raid

264,9 hill
Here at 30-31 July was a batlle between 1st Partisan brigade and 3 Finnish companies (Remes, Yliperttula, Isomaa). About 100 partisans including major Grogorjev were KIA here (according Aristov's radiogram 46 KIA, 35 WIA, 12 MIA, according 12 Finnish brigade's report - 113 partisans). Finnish losses 8 KIA and 31 WIA including lt. Yliperttula. Finns had the advantage - 50 mm and 81 mm mortars, some of that mortars were captured by partisans after attack on finnish positions at morning 31 July. After war local inhabitants found one mortar on the hill and this place has been called Mortar rock (Миномётная скала). Also it has other name - A Death Hill (Смерть-гора), because people found a remains of many unburied partisans here.
In some finnish sources this battle called "Vaara batle", but real Vuottavaara hill (417 meters height) about 5 km northwest from 264,9 hill

Well... Actual number of the partisans was not known yet at this time, nor did the higher echelons believe what was reported from the ground and estimated there to have been only 150 partisans (according to war diary information regarding 700 men was learned only on the evening of 20 July). Also Finns could only speculate target of the raid since the prisoner did not know what it was - granted there that weren't many targets to begin with so figuring it out probably was not that arduous task.
