By the way, 1 Il-2 shot down on 9.06.44 can be attributed to the share of Finnish fighters. 1 Il-2 703 ShAP 281 ShAD pilot lt Egorov PS was first hit by an A / A, and then attacked by an enemy fighter identified as FV-190. As a result of the additional damage received, the plane was crashed during an emergency landing at its airfield.

09.06.44 1 Tu-2 (334 BAD, 134 BAP) did not return from combat mission, I assumed that this Tu-2 was shot down by Lauri Mattsson from HleLv 26 (it is Pe-2's claim). But finally, you can clarify by knowing the departure time of this Tu-2.
09.06.44 1 Tu-2 (334 BAD) when landing in air field, accident? - This Tu-2 exploded while landing at the airfield, I considered it as not a combat loss.
09.06.44: 2 Il-4 (113 BAD, one 55 BAP other 836 BAP) shot down/did not return: 8 crew members MIA (3 captured in Silantojärvi, 55 BAP) - I attributed both downed Il-4s to Finnish fighters. This can only be clarified by knowing the departure time of the Il-4kh groups, when there were losses.

10.06.44: 1 Tu-2, shot down in air combat likely by Juutilainen HäLeLv34. He claimed it between 6.20-7.30 (Helsinki time) at Vaskisavotta, near frontline. Although the departure time for Yuutilainen coincides with the time of the loss of the Tu-2, I think it was not he who did it.
According to the documents: In the period 7.36-8.48 a pair of Yak-9 from 14 GIAP covered 6 Tu-2. On the return route from the target, the group was attacked by a total of 8 Brewers.
In the ensuing battle, the Yaks successfully repulsed the attacks of the "Brewsters" on the bombers for a long time. But another pair of "Brewers" with a sudden attack from the clouds in front of the bottom shot down 1 Tu-2 and again went into the cloudy sky. The successful attack was carried out by the pilot from HleLv 26 Väinö Kauppi, who mistakenly identified his target as a Pe-2. Its departure time is 06.30–07.40.
The documents of the 13th VA clearly state that the air battle was with the Brewsters.
10.06.44: 1 Tu-2 (334 BAD), AA at around 10 a.m - This Tu-2 was shot down by AA. (you need to clarify the sortie time)

10.06.44: 1 Il-4 (AA) According to the 13th VA, AA was shot down (you need to find out the sortie time)

(10.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD) was damaged by AA fire and made emergency landing on Sosnovka airbase. Not reported as aircraft loss)
276 BAD marks the successful repulsing of enemy fighter attacks by the fire of shooters and navigators.

15.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD, 140 BAP), shot down by AA in Kiviniemi, (Karasev, Nazimov, Aksenikhin 140 BAP, MIA) - shot down by AA with a direct hit.

Finnish AA units claimed 50 fighters or unknown single engine aircraft in June. If 25% claims were true "killings" then 12-13 of which 8-9 in Karelian Istmus might be quite realistic result. According reports of 7 VA 4 fighter aircraft were shot down by Finnish AA in Karelian front during June.

Here you have to deal with each case separately. Know the time and place of the anti-aircraft gunners' claim. My opinion that in some cases the 275 IAD and 2nd IAK fighters were shot down not by AA, but by enemy fighters, needs a deeper and more detailed investigation.
Here are all 21 Finnish anti-aircraft fighter or unknown single engine plane kill claims from the Karelian Ishmus during June 1944 as accepted by the HQ of the Finnish Air Force on 9 November 1944. The number refers to consecutive numbering on the November listing. All times are in Finnish time.

17.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD, 140 BAP) Antrea, did not return from combat mission(crew Olenich,Galygin, Antonovich, MIA)
17.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD,34 BAP) caused by AA, made emergency landing (one crew member Rudnev, Dmitri 34 BAP KIA)
17.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD) touched the another plane and damaged the gas system, got force landing on water, aircraft sunk, no personal losses.
According to the 276th BAD , one Pe-2 did not return, 2 Pe-2s were damaged by AA, crashed during forced landings. Air battles are not mentioned.
In the combat diary of the 13th VA it is written that one of the crashed Pe-2 was hit in an air battle.
On this basis, I considered that the fighters shot down 2 Pe-2. One Germans (Maj. Erich Rudorffer), the other Finns.
18.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD, 34BAP) shot down in air combat, Hiitola (Karasev(POW), Nazimov (POW),
Aksenikhin 34 BAP MIA). Shot down by Brewster-pilots of hvlelv26.
Pilot Jr. Lieutenant Borisov - shot down by HleLv 26
19.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD, 58 BAP), shot down by AA in Simola
19.06.44: 2 Il-4 (113 BAD, 836 BAP at least one of Il-4s)1 did not return, 1 shot down in Säiniö, at least 6 crew men MIA). Claims 2 Il-4 snr sgnt Lyly HävLeLv34 around same area, at Uuras time 20.00-21.15.
According to the 276th BAD Pe-2, pilot Captain Syrchin, was shot down AA.
Here I figured that the damaged Pe-2 was finished off by Finnish fighters, which had 6 claims for the Pe-2. Everything can be clarified by knowing the departure time of this Pe-2.

According to which I have located, only 1 IL-4 was lost. Most likely he was shot down by the pilot HleLv 34 E. Lyly.
21.06.44: 1 Il-4 (836 BAP) shot down (AA?) /did not return (Dragunov POW (died) , Fedorenko POW, Ermakov, Meshkov MIA) . No claims from any pilots. Can this Il-4 match with claim of Juutilainen HävLeLv 34 previous day when he claimed 2 Il-4 in Bay of Vyborg (Ristiniemi - Tiurinsaari 7.10-.8.00)? Finnish POW data did have errors with captured time. However 113 BAD reported crew MIA in 21 June, not 20 June. VVS KBF lost one Il-4 torpedo bomber 20.6.44 but in Pogra, Syväri (Svir).
One Il-4 113 BAD was shot down by AA.
23.06.44: 1 Il-4 shot down in air combat? Ivan Bacherikov 23.06.44 MIA. He was captured in Tienhaara.
I figured that the Il-4 was shot down by Finnish fighters, which had 6 claims for the Il-4.
28.06.44: 1 Pe-2 shot down by AA (? Not 276 BAD Pe-2???)) Not mentioned in loss list of 276 BAD.
This is probably a Pe-2 from a reconnaissance unit, I took it into account.
29.06.44: 1 IL-4 (113 BAD,836 BAP) shot down in aircombat (ltn Minin, Grigori and ltn Mamonov Gleb both MIA)
29.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD, 58 BAP) AA ,when performing a combat mission before reaching Kuokkala aircraft burned, crew of the ltn Markov unharmed)
29.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD, 58 BAP) AA, got hit in Kuokkala, did not return from combat mission, aircraft burned and crew of Manakov, Zaozerov and Avramenko were killed
29.06.44: 1 Pe-2 (276 BAD, 58 BAP) Air combat (Yershov, Pichel and Chabei) got hit in air combat emergency landing.
Il-4 was probably shot down by Ltn. Heinz Wernicke 5./JG 54 DB-3F.
The information about the losses of these 3 pe-2 is contradictory.
According to the combat diary of the 276th 276 BAD Pe-2 ml. Lieutenant Markov was shot down in an air battle. And according to the 276th BAD monthly report, this Pe-2 Markov was shot down by AA.
Pe-2 Manakov was shot down by AA.
Pe-2 Ershova did not return from the mission.

I had previously assumed that all Pe-2s were shot down in aerial combat. 2 were shot down by Finnish fighters, 1 by German ones.
Now it seems that fighters shot down only 2 Pe-2 (Markov, Ershov), and Manakov's Pe-2 was shot down by AA.
30.06.44: 1 Pe-2 shot down in air combat. Navigator Nesterovich KIA, pilot Malev and gunner Malykh parachuted
30.06.44: 1 Il-4 shot down in air combat, no hint of crew losses
Pe-2 276 BAD was probably shot down by HleLv 24 pilot Nils Katajainen.
IL-4 was probably shot down by HleLv 24 pilot Jouko Huotari.

In total, in June, I counted 22 downed bombers of the 13th VA: 11 Pe-2, 8 Il-4, 3 Tu-2.

Thank you, Mangrove for given AA information. So ItR 15 (15th AA Regiment) claimed these bombers in 9 June 44:
- Pe-2 Kauhimäki (I/11.Kev.It.Ptri), hit to engine, aircraft downed to Mottori (infantry confirmed) this might also have been Tu-2
-Il-4 Valkeasaari (I/58) downed to SE Valkeasaari
-Pe-2 hit in Tulokas (I/12) downed in Valkesaari, might also have been Tu-2 claim
- Il-4 Ahijärvi (II/16) downed in Kivennapa
- Il-4 Vuottaa (I/4) downed in Vuottaa, aircraft crashed
-Il-4 Hartonen (II/5) crashed in Kaljala
-Il-4 Ahijärvi (II/16)

When it comes to It.R 3 it claimed during 17 June 2 Pe-2 when Pe-2s (of 276 BAD) made three different formation attack to Vyborg, time 10.57-12.34. Claimed Pe-2 were:
- 1 Pe-2 shot down direct hit, aircraft exploded in air during 1st attack, time10.57-11.14 ( formation having 9 Pe-2, 6 fighters, height 1700-2200 m), 1 Pe-2 claimed to have been damaged by hit to its engine.
- 2nd attack during 12.12-12.15 ( no Pe-2s shot down, damaged 2) height 2100-3600 continuing stream on bombers (25 Pe-2s counted + 10 fighters)
- 1 Pe-2 shot down during attack of 3rd formation and one damaged (26 Pe-2, 2 fighters, height 3200-3600 m), time around 12.30

Reported by It.R 3 that during the battle 9 bf-109 (FiAF) and 4 Fw-190 (II./JG54) took part on combat. Rudorffer claimed time11.34 and coordinates ( 81 262), height 1500 matched well in Vyborg area and time of first attack. Though diary of It.R 3 was suggesting there was bf-109 claim of Pe-2 during Vyborg offensives there wasn't any confirmed. Olli Puhakka claimed Pe-2 much earlier (8.20-9.30) - that can't be linked to this Vyborg combat time. Nor claim of (then) Brewster-pilot Nils Trontti (1 Pe-2 but in Palkeala ,village in Rautu, Sosnovo, time 17.20-17.25. If all 3 Pe-2 losses were linked to 3 formation attacks in Vyborg then it was one to Rudorffer and 2 to AA and neither Puhakka nor Trontti. Perhaps Rudorffer shot down that AA damaged Pe-2?

Judging by the data of the 276th BAD, one can come to the conclusion that there were more than one raid on Vyborg. Alas, the time of the raids is not in the available documents.
The reasons for the loss of two Pe-2s were AA hit and crashed. Crews ml. Lieutenants Nemchininov and Zaitsev (both sat on the water and drowned). Only the Pe-2 pilot Galygin is listed as missing. Probably only he could be shot down or finished off by fighters.
The final conclusion can only be made by knowing the time of the loss.
276th BAD notes the opposition of fighters in only one case. In the Kexholm area, a frontal attack by one Brewster was repulsed.

Day 10 June 44. According to reports of 2 GIAK, 10 Airacobras were escorting 8 Tu-2, time 11.05-12.05. The target of Tu-2 ПЯЛЛИЛЯ , Pällilä, in county of Kyyrölä. (When Pällilä was part of Finland it located in center of Muolaa).

"11.05-12.05 10 P-39 102 GIAP, under the command of Captain DREVYATNIKOV, leading groups: Major GRIMOV, gv Captain ALEXANDROV, proivveli went to escort 8 TU-2 on KARPERESHEYEK TU-2 planes bombed the point of PÄLLILÄ / 1 klm.s.v.ov.Yskäjärvi.There were no bombing revolutions. Over the target, AA shot down 1 TU-2, which was blown up in the air. After the bombing, the bombers turned to the southeast in the direction of RAIVOLA. In the district of Maisniemi(?) H-800 mtr. gv.lieutenant ZAVYALOV and gv.ml.lieutenant GORBACHEVSKY spotted 4 ME-109s, which were trying to approach the TU-2 with a climb, but were promptly spotted and attacked by our pilots."

Zavialov claimed one 1 bf-109. FiAF lost in air combat one fighter: Brewster. It was shot down in Kiviniemi time 10.40 (Helsinki time) by Soviet fighter and pilot - sn sgnt Väinö Kauppi parachuted.

There is a clarification in the report of 140 BAP:
06/17/44 at 12.12 after the impact on Vyborg, the Pe-2 pilot Galygin turned to the right and went into the clouds. He did not react to the leader's signals. The fate of the plane and the crew remained unknown. Presumably shot down by enemy fighters patrolling in the target area.

If Pe-2 Galygin 140 BAP 276th BAD was shot down by fighters, then it could only be Rudorffer.
Olli Puhakka's claim is unconfirmed.

Thank you, Mangrove for given AA information. So ItR 15 (15th AA Regiment) claimed these bombers in 9 June 44:
The list I posted previously contain only claims by Ilmatorjuntarykmentti 12. The other Finnish anti-aircraft regiment operating at the Karelian Isthmus was Ilmatorjuntarykmentti 15. Here's their claim list for June 1944. Furthermore, the Finnish Air Force and regimental claim lists obviously contain only claims by anti-aircraft units.

There were also a few claims by various infantry units for 9 June 1944. Both war diary by 10. Divisioona and after-action report by Jalkaväkirykmentti 1 mention the infantry regiment shot down one IL-2 and an observation aircraft with 20mm Lahti anti-tank rifle between 5.45 and 6.45 a.m and another IL-2 at around 7.30 p.m. All claims took place around Valkeasaari.

According to the award document for Cross of Freedom, 4th Class (VR4), Technical Sergeant (ylikersantti) Per Rönnqvist of Järeä Patteristo 4 shot down a "diving Soviet two-engine bomber" with a mounted Lahti anti-tank rifle at Valkeasaari on 9 June 1944. The after-action report by Järeä Patteristo 4 makes no reference to the event, but does mention the loss of two Lahti rifles between 9 and 10 June 1944. Most probably the claim would be referring to the air attack against the battery at around 6 a.m. on 9 June 1944.

Pe-2 claim in Kiviniemi, 15 June 1944 by 9.Kev.It.Ptri can be confirmed (if time matched) . Direct hit. First combat loss of 276 BAD according Soviet source during offensive. AA damaged one in 10 June.

Claim of Tu-2 (by Brewster pilot Mattson) in Suulajärvi 9 June can be confirmed at least by the fact that it was shot down there at 11.45-13.00 (mentioned: "air combat 6 BW vs 9 Pe-2s and around 30 fighters, one Pe-2 shot down") and that one crew member was also captured. As it has mentioned Finns were first thinking he was crew member of Pe-2 but he - Jegor Bykhovtsev (134 BAP) - was captured in Kanneljärvi not far from Suulajärvi. Only AA claim at same time same area can question claim of Mattson. Haven't found so far.

http://digi.narc.fi/digi/view.ka?kuid=4893326

Then irreplaceable crew losses: the crew members of Il-4 shot down in 9 June: jr ltn Andrei Pridhodko and jr ltn Pjotr Balashev (55 BAP, 113 BAD), KIA. Shot down by enemy fighter. Place: Hartonen, a villiage of county Kiviniemi. Time unknown. According Finnish sources they with the rest of crew were captured in Silantojärvi, Озеро Силанде (Ozero Silande), in sector of 15th Infantry Division.

Crew members of Il-4 Aleksandr Koryshev and Timofei Fedotov (836 BAP, 113 BAD) POW, mentioned only as "captured in Karelian Isthmus", 9 June 44. In loss list mentioned "did not return from combat mission".

If two Il-4 were shot down by FiAF the one was shot down by bf-109 (Nyman, HävLeLV 24, Kivennapa) at 16.50-17.30 and the other by Brewster (Teromaa or Riekki, HävLeLv 26, Kivennapa-Ronnunkylä) at 16.50-18.00. One Brewster badly damaged, emergency landing and pilot Riekki sent to hospital.

The theory of AA shot down/damaged Pe-2 in 19 June and finnished by FiAF pilot is little bit shaky. The reports are suggesting AA of Simola and crashing according 276 BAD sources in Hovinmaa, 12 km west from Vyborg, while 6 claims of FiAF pilots are east from Vyborg: Summa, Johannes, Kämärä and Kuolemanjärvi. Claim of Frädich (II./JG54) also far east from Vyborg. The final conclusion if hulk of Pe-2 was indeed found west from Vyborg in area of Hovinmaa.
