Jänisjoki defence

#1

Post by kuuskajaskari » 26 Dec 2017, 17:13

I'm trying to locate three Enckell line bunkers, located at the top of Jänisjoki.
Two of them are next to the railway bridge, Jänisjärvi st.-Alattu st., and one next to the bridge, Hämekoski-Alattu road.
Does anyone knows if there is anything to be found.

Found something, but not (yet) detailed map of Hämekoski area.

Thanks, this clarified the matter.
Really interesting pages about the defense of northern parts of Lake Laatokka.

Now those items 1-3 could be found, in the aerial maps they are not separated,
Items 4-10 are apparently destroyed and are located in the center of the settlement.
Items 11-13 I know.

Any more detailed info on the defence line here during the Continuation War and the Summer of -44? I believe JR4 or parts of it tried to mount a defence here.

Hey.
The National archives of Finland, http://kronos.narc.fi/aarre/aarre.php
There is a list # T 21014-21018.

T21014 page 3, 15
There may be some information about the fortifications.

Unfortunately, the material is not public, it must be ordered to be read.
I got this link from Timo Hakala, so thanks to him.
