Map terrain question Ladogan Karelia

Post by SFCLinken » 03 May 2018 06:24

Kan someone help me identiy this part of terrain? It is close to the village Pitkäränta.

The green area is forrest. Then marked red is open/clear terrain. But what kind of terrain have I marked blue?

Is it like the Swedish equivalent of "myrmark"? Meaning marshlands but with small trees and bushes growing? In wet season very difficult to traverse but fairly when dry in hot summers? Or is it just a plain wet swamp/marsh?

The original map legend for the symbol marked in blue is "suo ja räme", corresponding to "myr" and "tallmyr" in A. K. Cajander's classification system. Suo is a mire and räme is a pine mire.
