This is the place to ask!
Does anyone know how many Tellermine 35s Panssarimiina m/41s the Finns received/purchased from Germany in WW2?
Also, any idea of the WaffenAmts or markings on the body, not fuse?
And any of the other Tellermines42 or 43? But especially the '35'
Thanks/Kiitos

Hi.

According to: Terä, Martti V : Kesäkuun kriisi 1944, Helsinki 1967, appendix 3, amount of anti tank mines shipped from Germany to Finland was: (if I got it right) January to April 1944: 50.000 pieces. June to September 1944: 61500 = in 1944 total 11500. Types, models and so on, not a clue, but think, guess of later models.

Best regards

Esa K

The first shipments that the Germans delivered to Finland included 150,000 antitank-mines that arrived on numerous ships in September - November of 1940. Those 150,000 mines were panssarimiina m/41 aka tellermine 35.

The later shipments were presumably at least mostly later German antitank-mine models (m/42 and m/43), but none of the Finnish books, articles, manuals or archive documents that I have seen specify, which antitank-model they were. At least at the moment there are no Finnish sources, which would indicate how many mine of each model were included to deliveries sent to Finland. My educated guess is that if such information exists, it might be found in archive documents that originated from Sapper Department (Pioneeriosasto) of Finnish Armed Forces General Headquarters (Päämaja), which are now in Finnish National Archives.
