Finnish Tank Destruction Award

Post by alpinoinMT » 31 Oct 2018 16:55

Will ask only once, but does anyone on the planet, or Finland make a copy/repro of this Finnish Tank Destruction Award?
I have a small collection of Finnish medals & insignia, as well as firearms & militaria, but even a copy would help.
Kiitos/Thanks

ps. at least the Finns had an enemy tank on their award :D - a bit like our Purple Heart being the only medal the enemy gives you!
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
a reporter once asked me, after an awards ceremony
"are purple hearts for soldiers & bronze stars for officers?'

There was a patch of reproductions about the basic award batch made for Tali-Ihantala 1944 movie. After its filming ended they were being sold by shop of Parola Armour Museum, but that was many years ago, so they might be long gone. What I remember they existed in two varities - unissued and those with patina added to them - presumably the ones with patina had used in the movie. The reproduction award batch is also bit smaller than the original. They are the only reproductions that I am aware of.

If you want to ask if they still have those batches, here is the email-address: toimisto(at)panssarimuseo.fi
