Makkara Keitto Recipe

Post by Laurance.Robinson » 20 Nov 2018 20:04

Yes, a weird one.

We all know the story of the Makkarasota and all.

I was wondering if there is out there an official Army recipe book or individual recipe for making the famous Soup that stopped the Soviets?

Always grateful for any help or directions.

Regards,

Laurance

Thanks Seppo.

I should have done a search before asking.

Here is a recipe from a modern scout cook book (for 100 people):
water 35 liters
vegetables 10 kg (carrots, celeriac, parsnip)
potatoes 13 kg
sausages or meat 8 kg
onions 0,5 kg
salt 1 dl
peppers

Modern army recipe (for 1200 men):

potatoes 210 kg
mixed vegetables 45 kg
