I have run across the Savo Brigade in my readings, but may I ask, was it absorbed into other units/regiments?
And was it in action in WW2?
The other unit as well, seems to have vanished into thin air. I have a Finnish Army pack with III/JR41 written on it.
The same question about WW2, and where/when?
"are purple hearts for soldiers & bronze stars for officers?'

Savonia Brigade ("Savon Prikaati") operated from the city of Viipuri, a part of Karelia, between 1927 and 1934. It was reorganised into a jaeger regiment in 1934. The Brigade was refounded after the WWII at Mikkeli, where it was based between 1957 and 2006.
Jalkaväkirykmentti 41 was founded from Kenttätäydennysprikaati (literally "Field Replenishment Brigade") in January 1940. It fought in the region around Ilomantsi until the end of the Winter War. There was no unit under the name of JR 41 during the Continuation War or Lapland War.
