I got this picture from a page with German pictures from "Signal" magazine. I was wondering, what kind of unit used that skeleton head on their helmet like that? It might just be improvized by the soldiers for fun but.. I'm curious.

Cheers.

Kocjo is right. They are Finnish soldiers. Some men of Kev.Os.4 (Light Detachment 4) is know to paint their helmets like that in Winter War.However this photo is from Continuation War,so mayby men served in that unit in Winter War and adapted same emblem or just thinked that looked "cool".

Those kind of emblems were unofficial and quite rare.
