I must say that I (too) thougt about rocket assisted depth charges ( hydrostatic fuses would perhaps fit nicely to that pic), but couldn't figure out how the mentioned tracer and armour piercing features would fit to the picture.
...and were there even such weapons at that time.

ABBA - Napoleon - Waterloo...

However, the tracer part at your hints seemed not to fit very well to the torpedoes.

Napoleon, something like a millennium to young.
this is a really old song..

This hint is towards a modern, "somewhat" similar weapon system to FAF evaluated.
- The old Frenchman used an older weapon with the same name had been used by other __AF

Just can't still figure out how the mentioned tracer and armour piercing features would fit to the depth charge pic.

Yes, Rolands sword of today got the propellant but I assume they where intended for naval targets,
so if they did not hit they exploded on the side of the target below the waterline armour.

And I think that where an answer

Interesting document.
Thank you.
Is there Swedish info availlable about the "rocket bombs"?

AFAIK there where 30 items, 14 fuzes and 16 bombs.
Bombs:
-9 explosive loaded rocket bombs á 140kg (rocket assisted, free fall bombs ? - JT)
-5 unloaded rocket bombs (rocket assisted, free fall bombs ? - JT)
-2 explosive loaded armor piercing bombs á 150kg (free fall bombs -JT)
John T wrote:Bonus hint:
As far as I know, Finland did never use these in combat but where attacked by a similar weapon system.
AFAIK Finns never used rocket assisted bombs, but often used similar free fall ones, as well as hydrostatic fuzes.
And same with Finns being at the receiving end.

Was my wrong answer considered right one ("against ground targets")?
Is it my turn, now? :)

Nor I can read at the John T document about the mentioned pre-fragmented and/or the glider-bomb elements.

Yes, I think your previous answer
Well, well. A desperate guess:
Propelled or powder reactive Aviation Depth Bombs?
The only error here where "depth" otherwise you got it clean.
And then You got Roland and his Sword "Durandal" (- Rocket assisted bombs used by among others USAF)

And the Bombs would also be usefull against ground targets, Germany used similar bombs against fortresses on the Western front May 1940.

And a site on the Soviet counterpart:

Happy hunting, drummer :)

Ok, here's a new one - I hope.
On 14.6.1944 the CO of "Jääkäriprikaati" (Jägerbrigade), Colonel Puroma was dismayed by a scene he watched from his CP in Voipaala. What was the view, that shocked him? 8O
