Silver Star arrived in Turku, Finland on 5 February 1940. On 26 February 1940 the aircraft was allocated the temporary Finnish civil registration OH-IPA, and was transferred to the Separate Flight (Er.LeLv, organized by mobilized civil transport aircraft of AERO OY) with Flight Captain Ville Leppänen as responsible pilot. Before end of the Winter War two ambulance flights were made, and on one flight children were evacuated to Sweden. On 27 May 1940 OH-IPA was to be ferried to Tikkakoski for inclusion in bomber regiment LeR 4 with AF registration DH-1, but the AF transfer pilot (unaccustomed with the big aircraft) miscalculated the take-off run and collided with Brewster BW-394. Silver Star was damaged beyond repair and written off 26 Aug 1940. Fortunately no one was hurt in the accident.

Well done J-P.John Hilly wrote:I couldn't find the photo, but I think it's taken in the main gun tower of Väinämöinen.
The man might be some kind of a fire contoller?
Edit: Found it - under Ilmarinen. Very clever.
"Kapteeniluutnantti Huhta keskustähtäimen ääressä panssarilaiva Väinämöisen märssyssä. Kapteeniluutnantti Huhta oli samassa paikassa panssarilaiva Ilmarisessa sen upotessa ja on ainoita Ilmarisen märssystä pelastuneita."
With best,
