Re: The official AHF Winter & Continuation War quiz thread
Sk-2 is the correct answer, Sk-2 is still partly intact and easy to go and explore.
Question # 2 is still waiting for an answer.
3D-image can be found on Bair Irincheevs website.
btw, Hotinen-gate, can you tell more about it...

Here it comes.
Picture of one at-obstacle, who knows what is the story of that text, and where you will find the stone.

The "fir-in-circle" distantly reminds of the United Paper Mills logo 1920-1996 ?
Carelian Isthmus, Mannerheim line, set up in summer 1939?

It's not the company's logo. It`s made by forester students, summer 1939.

Ok.
Hyytiälä Forestry Field Station.
Forester students made that text, they took part in fortification work in the summer of 1939.
The stone can be found Pasurinkangas anti-tank obstacle line. Kuusaa-Kiviniemi -road, the south-east side of the road.
The story can be found in Metsänhoitaja-magazine 4/2015, in Finnish only, but maybe someone translate it ...

Hi, thanks for a good question and interesting background info.
Would you like to post a new one, or is it open for the fastest one?
Regards, Juha

Re: The official AHF Winter & Continuation War quiz thread
Okay, here's another one. Then I need a break ...
Three bunkers named Million. One was made by Finns and the other two were made by the Soviet forces.
The Finnish bunker is easy to know, but where the other two are located.
best regards Jukka

Särkijärvi, Syväri is correct.
http://www.sotahistoriallisetkohteet.fi ... /9/area/85
only in finnish, unfortunately.
I`ve never heard Kabanov bunker called Million...so I don`t accept it.
This bunker was also in the front line and was held by Finnish troops for a long time.
regards Jukka

Re: The official AHF Winter & Continuation War quiz thread
The Finnish troops withdrew from the bunker in June 1944 after heavy cannon raids. The bunker was obviously exploded at the same time or the explosives / ammunition stored exploded.
