Re: sentences by britisch courts
I think these were Canadian Military Courts at Aurich.
Should "Neitz" be "Neitze"?
Should "Neitz" be "Neitze"?
Re: sentences by britisch courts
Neitz was granted remission on his sentence by the Canadian government in 1954 and his date of release was calculated to be early 1955. Reference FO.1024/56 British National Archives.

Re: sentences by britisch courts
Hi Steve248
Thanks for the reply - With the exception of Rudolf Birlin & Hugo Grüner the men named do not appear on the UK National Archives website. I can only think that for some reason they were pulled from the actual trials.
The trial of Rudolf Birlin & Hugo Grüner was scheduled to take place at Recklinghausen opening on 20 Feb 1947. The Archives website has it that the trial took place in Hamburg. I would still like to know if any of these men were sentenced.
BTW Kew is a hell of a treck for us Sherwood Foresters
regards

Re: sentences by britisch courts
Unfortunately we are moving house and most of the stuff about British trials went off to the storage unit only yesterday...
I prefer my own Indices to the trials rather than Kew's which are not always accurate.
I don't think these men were Sipo/SD so I will not have much if anything about them.
I do not go to Kew as often as I did and simply digitize these days, fo the days ahead when I will not be able to go...
