Condom used by Japanese soldiers against Comfort Women

#1

Post by Kim Sung » 09 Nov 2006, 03:38

I've found a photo of a condom used by Japanese soldiers against comfort women. Dotsugeki Ichiban (突擊一番, meaning 'Advance first!') is written on it.

This site says '突撃一番で遊ぼう' meaning "Let's play with Dotsugeki Ichiban condom"

The more interesting question is why you were searching for photos of used condoms.

Well, what historical conclusions can you draw from this used condom?

How do you know that it was used on a comfort woman?

From the looks of it, it appears that something sinister has ate away at the shaft of the condom leaving only the base ring. Based on the visual evidence, I suggest that the Japanese soldier who used this condom was not successful in warding off veneral disease. Have they performed any biological testing of this condom. Perhaps it was used in Japanese biological warfare experiments.

Dotsugeki Ichiban (突擊一番) written on it is the evidence.

According to '천황의 군대와 성노예' ('Emperor's Army and Sex Slaves') published by Minegishi Gentaro in Korea on August 6, 2001, Dotsugeki Ichiban (突擊一番) is written on condoms used by the Japanese soldiers.

The Japanese soldier could have used it on someone other than a comfort woman.

I am mostly shocked that you posted this item. What historical relevance does it have? Will you next post pictures of a bed allegedly used by Japanese soldiers to copulate with these comfort women?

I already know your typical writing style. And I already decided to ignore all your posts in this forum.

That is certainly your prerogative, however, I do fail to see the historical relevance of a used condom.

Have to agree with Penn44 what is the historic significance? Are you suggesting that these condoms with this logo were exclusively manufactured for use at "comfort brothels" or is it a standard issue condom (if that exists) of the type commonly encountered by comfort women?

Also to me it looks un-used, the band is a lot thicker than a used one would be indicating that it's still rolled-up.

Yes, that's it. Minegishi Gentaro says that Dotsugeki Ichiban (突擊一番) was a standard logo written on condoms used at "comfort brothels"

Just as we discuss in what manner Germans masacred the Jews in Europe, it is also meaningful that we discuss in what manner the Japanese committed war crimes in Asia.

Zyklon B and rubbers don't quite equate.

Both German massacre of the Jews and Japanese use of sex slaves are war crimes. Except the Holocaust, no other war crimes are worthy of discussion? If German soldiers sexually exploited Jewish women instead of killing them, isn't it worthy of discussion?
