Re: sentences by britisch courts
Hi danyb
Steve248 is correct with the UK Archive file numbers on Karl Spaeth - (trial in WO 235/350 (July 1947-1948); investigation file WO 309/225)
You wrote that Spaeth was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. Do you know Where was the trial and what was the sentence date?
Thanks

Re: sentences by britisch courts
Hi Dany,
correct name is Dr. Victor Harnischfeger
Harnischfeger was tried together with KK Dr. Josef Ochs (also Stapo Düsseldorf) in 1947 by a britisch court in Hamburg and both aquitted.
The death sentence from his 2nd trial in 1948 (same case: execution of forced workers in 1945.04 in Ratingen - but now found individually guilty for execution of 2 victims) was changed to life sentence, he was in 1952 released and in 1954 again in police.

Re: sentences by britisch courts
Neither Pingel nor Karl Raddatz were tried by British war crimes courts.
Pingel was initially charged in the Banterweg case but he was dropped as a defendant before the trial began.
