The author of "Kriegsverbrechen vor Gericht" is Katrin (not Kathrin) Hassel and her book is available on amazon for an arm and a leg.

Neither Pingel nor Karl Raddatz were tried by British war crimes courts.
Pingel was initially charged in the Banterweg case but he was dropped as a defendant before the trial began.

Karl Radatz was put on trial:

ID trial: 1733
WO.235/517 , 776 (Banterweg Case)
place of trial: Hamburg
dates of trial: 08.07.1948 - 13.07.1948
defendants: 1

Karl Georg August Radatz: 8 years (ID trial: 1733)

danyb - my post about Karl Raddatz (two Ds) is correct. He was a Sipo officer.
Not the Karl Radatz (one D) as you have shown above.

I wonder if Karl Radatz and Karl Raddatz are not the same men - both were linked to Außenlager Wilhelmshaven (Banter Weg).
Problably the case of Karl Rad(d)atz was split from the main case in 1947 and handled in 1948 in an individual trial.

there is no a Karl Raddatz(2D) listed in Katrin Hassel's Book , but 2 Karl Radatz.

Sometimes the names are spelt incorrectly in the archive files as in the case of Karl Mechle who turned out to be Karl-Heinz Moehle (Möhle).
I should have guessed as he was in my files but I had not put the WO case number against him.

As for Radatz I only have 1 man with that name tried by the British although his name appears in the archives as:-
Georg Karl Radatz. Born 2 May 1906 in Gross Doelin.
Prisoner in Dachau Camp in 1940
Transferred to Neuengamme in 1941
Sent to Banterweg in September 1944
Kapo in charge of the smithy and welding department.
Beat and ill-treated members of the work squads.

I could do with some more help too.
I do not have anything on August Fretzen WO 235/365 Fritz Birks WO 235/434 and Gustav Branding WO235/488 (all 3 Trials in Hamburg)

Karl Raddatz was SS-Staf and on staff of HSSPF West organizing Werwolf activities in April 1945.
Not arrested by the British until 1946.
No trial.

Does this book "Kriegsverbrechen vor Gericht" (Katrin Hassel) give details of those on trial such as date of birth and the crime committed?

Thank you danyb for the information. I have a few more queries if you are willing to help?
