Most Germans subjected to war crimes trials in Poland were extradited from Allied occupation zones of Germany to Poland.

This is a list of such men extradited from the British Zone to Poland, August 1947-Feb 1948:

Albert, Dr Karl
Andres, Otto
Bumann (sic - Baumann?), Heinz G A
Brunner, Louise
Brandt Oskar
Böttcher, Dr Herbert Kurt
Barda vel Melnbarde, Richard

The following Germans were returned from Poland after trial and completion of sentence or acquittal; their return to western Germany (probably to the British Zone, otherwise would not be noted in British files) was planned for a hand-over at Helmstedt border crossing on 13 April 1951:

Hello Steve,

From your list only those men were succesfully extradited:
Albrecht, Andres, Bumann, Brandt, Böttcher dr, Drewes, Hertwig, Henze, Heinemeyer, Hornbostel,
Kruse, Kadler, Köhler, Kleyer, Piekarski, Pruss, Riemann, Rauch, Samol, Schneemann, Schmidt, Trapp, Weiss,
Wigand and Zerull (most of them in October and December 1947).
The others - not.
In december 1947 were also extradited from British zone:
Heinz Marwede (born 1911 Wesermünde) - member Gestapo in Warschau.
Carl Friedrich Jepsen (born 1914 Rendsburg) - Ustuf, member of SD in Warschau.

This Bumann was indeed Heinz BUMANN (not Baumann), born in Hamburg, member of 101 Polizei Bat. (like Trapp, Drewes and Kadler).
Schoengarth could not be extradited - he was hanged in 1946 in Hameln.
SS-Brigadefuhrer dr Karl Albert also wasn't hand over.

Between February-Sept 1948 was also extradited Alfred Stromberg (along with Altmann, Busing, Schroeder, Friedel and Wiese - on 27/08/1948).

Best
George

I have the same info as Steve248 re the extraditions from British internment to Poland courtesy of the National Archives.
What happened to all the others who did not make it to trial as presumably the Polish authorities asked for them in the first place?

Hello Researcher,

I don't have any info about those men who weren't extradited (except of Schoengarth and dr Albert).
I only know that Herbert Passia (mentioned on the list as "extradited") was Gestapo man in Lodz, Krakau and Lemberg.
He was finally released from British camp Fallingbostel on 16.09.1948.

On 09.01.1948 the transport of 87 (or 82) war criminals from British zone was at the last minute cancelled by the British authorities.
I do not have the list of names from that transport but it is very possible that it included the men from the list above.

George
