According to the USAJAG reviews, Hubert Frisch was an Austrian inmate at Steyr subcamp, serving first as block elder and then camp elder.

Josef Mocbeichel is described as a Czech guard serving in the Waffen-SS, but the review doesn't give his rank.

Johann Hoos is described as a Romanian serving as a private in the Waffen-SS.

Franz Pavela was an Austrian inmate at KL Mauthausen.

Hanscarl von Posern was a German inmate.

Wilhelm Glissmann's rank is given as Waffen-SS sergeant.

Johann Wegert was an SS Corporal.

Franz Firsching was also an SS Corporal.

The sentences given by dylan are all correct, as usual.

Much thanks Dylan and David! It's highly appreciated. David, I have a question: Is there other place online than http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jso ... rials.html where I would be able to find the USAJAG reviews?

I don't think so. The University of Toledo (Ohio) had a very large number of the reviews posted on its Dachau trials website, but unfortunately decided to remove the page after only a few months, without giving any explanation. The Jewish Virtual Library website appears to have copied the larger concentration camp cases and credited the University of Toledo website. If the Jewish Virtual Library copied the smaller trials and the non-concentration camp proceedings (the Flyer cases, etc.), they haven't posted them.

Leo Angel -- You asked:
Does anybody know SS-rank of these men? Of course some of them could be inmates (kapos etc.). Any information would be highly appreciated.
Case No. 000-Mauthausen-13 (US vs. Karl Albrecht) Tried 25 April 47 [pdf]
Albrecht, Karl
Karl Albrecht was a German inmate serving as block elder at Camp Gusen II.
Case No. 000-50-5-2 (US vs. Ernst Walter Dura) Tried 23 June 47 [pdf]
Dura, Ernst Walter
Ernst Walter Dura was acquitted, so the USAJAG review doesn't give any background details, except he served in some capacity at Wiener-Neudorf camp.
Case No. 000-50-5-5 (US vs. Willy Werner et al) Tried 23 July 47 [pdf]
Schmidt, Bruno
Bruno Schmidt was acquitted, so the USAJAG review doesn't give any background details, except he served as a guard at Oberizmuehle.
Case No. 000-50-5-6 (US vs. Hans Joachim Geiger et al) Tried 5 Aug. 47 [pdf]
Schiffter, Otto

Case No. 000-50-5-10 (US vs. Georg Bach et al) Tried 3 July 47 [pdf]
Heinz, Kaspar
Roeder, Rudolf
Both Kaspar Heinz and Rudolf Roeader were acquitted, so the USAJAG review doesn't give any background details. Since all of the convicted accused served at Gusen I, inferentially Messrs. Heinz and Roeder were either guards or inmates at that camp.
Case No. 000-50-5-12 (US vs. Hans Giovanazzi et al) Tried 11 Aug. 4 [pdf]

Daniel Stoeckel was a German SS guard, accused of having helped shoot 6-7 captured Dutch paratroopers at KL Mauthausen of 6 Sept 1944. There are no other details in the USAJAG review.
Case No. 000-50-5-14 (US vs. Eduard Dlouhy et al) Tried 23 July 47 [pdf]
Stumfol, Karl
Karl Stumfol was a private first class in the Waffen-SS, accused of killing several prisoners at various KL Mauthausen subcamps. He was a Yugoslav national.
Case No. 000-50-5-17 (US vs. Waldemar Barner et al) Tried 9 Sept. 47 [pdf]
Hub, Emil
Emil Hub was acquitted, so the USAJAG review doesn't give any background details. Hub was also indicted in Case No. 000-50-5-18 (US vs. Theo Otto Bernhardt et al), but the government decided not to prosecute him (nolle prosequi).
Case No. 000-50-5-18 (US vs. Theo Otto Bernhardt et al) Tried 25 Aug. 47 [pdf]
Wagner, Bernhard
Bernhard Fritz Wagner was an accountant, drafted into the Waffen-SS in Sept 1939 and served at KL Mauthausen as a concentration camp guard until Aug 1940. He was then transferred to the camp administration, where he was responsible for billeting, care of tools, and laundry distribution. The USAJAG review does not give his rank.
Case No. 000-50-5-21 (US vs. Josef Kattner et al) Tried 9 Sept. 47 [pdf]

Leo Angel -- Since your last post asking about the availability of USAJAG reviews, danyb has posted a link to a site ( http://www.icwc.de/index.php?id=49&L=0 ) which has a number of them under the Dachau trials (US) link in the left hand column.

Thanks for help 8-)
I need any additional information about these men sentenced in Case No. 000-50-5-14 (US vs. Eduard Dlouhy et al) Tried 23 July 47:
Fritz Miroff, SS-Obersturmführer, commandant of Peggau subcamp, sentenced to death and executed 26 November 1948
Paul Ricken, SS-Hauptscharführer, sentenced to life imprisonment.

I need such information as d.o.b., service, numbers of NSDAP and SS, duties in Mauthausen camp (as for Ricken), periods of service in Mauthausen. So any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

French L. MacLean's The Camp Men: The SS Officers Who Ran the Nazi Concentration Camp System (Schiffer, Altglen [PA]: 1999), p. 161 lists Miroff's KL service as Mauthausen 1941-1944. However, the same source gives Miroff's SS-Nr. as 1511; NSDAP-Nr. 327386; b. at Ulm 29 Aug 1902, with the source being the US-NARA file A3343 SSO-319A.

danyb -- Thank you very much for the link to this site.

For interested readers -- This site given by danyb, covering KL Mauthausen-Gusen, is well worth a look: http://ecc.pima.edu/~gusen/index.html

Leo Angel -- The USAJAG review gives the following information:

Dlouhy was a 38 year old Austrian staff sergeant in the Waffen-SS. He began his service with the Waffen-SS on 7 Sept 1939 and was promoted to sergeant in Apr 1944. He said he served at KL Mauthausen from 27 Jan-14 Mar 1942, then at subcamp Brettstein 15 Mar-10 Nov 1942, KL Mauthausen again 11 Nov 1942-12 Jan 1943, at subcamp Linz 12 Jan-20 May 1943, at subcamp Loibl Pass 20 May 1943-10 Feb 1944. According to Dlouhy, he was a supervisor in the KL Mauthausen headquarters from 18 Feb-18 Aug 1944, and then was a guards supervisor at subcamp Peggau 20 Aug 1944-8 Apr 1945.

He was convicted of beating and slapping inmates around on various occasions.

Glissman was a 40 year old Waffen-SS sergeant who had been a member of the Nazi Party since 1932. He joined the Waffen-SS on 7 Nov 1939. He was a guard at subcamp Gusen from Feb 1940-May 1942, was assigned to road construction at subcamp Voecklabruck May-Sept 1942, then to subcamp Ternberg for reservoir guard duty Sept 1942-Mar 1943. He was sergeant of the guard at subcamp Wiener-Neudorf Mar-Oct 1943, stationed at subcamp Aflens Oct 1943-14 Feb 1945, then subcamp Peggau 15 Feb-3 Apr 1945 for tunnel construction.

He was convicted of beating and whipping inmates, and allowing 20-25 inmates to die of exposure during a transport from Peggau to Mauthausen in Apr 1945.

Stumfol was a 22 year old Yugoslavian private first class in the Waffen-SS, who joined on 14 Sept 1942. From 15 Feb-10 Aug 1943 he was a guard at subcamp Gusen, at Wiener-Neudorf from 10 Aug 1943-2 Feb 1944 in the FOW (POW?) plants, at subcamp Liebnitz 2 Feb-25 Sept 1944 in the limestone plant at Alfens, served as a rifleman in the 13th SS Mountain Division in Croatia and Hungary 25 Sept-14 Dec 1944.

He was convicted of slapping and beating inmates. While on guard service, he shot and killed four men, three of them POWs, on different occasions.

Does anyone know where Bruno Schmidt was from? I've been trying to look it up myself, but I haven't had a lot of luck. I'm not used to attempting to do research without college databases.
