Re: War crime trials Poland 2
What is the correct translation? What are the correct names?
Re: War crime trials Poland 2
The DP article reads:
" Death sentence in Łódź
Łódź, May 16th,(Polpress).
The special court in Łódź investigated
the case of the 63 year old farmer
August Finz, accused of, as being a member
of the Landwacht [!], persecuting Poles
and took openly part in their beating.
After the investigation the special court
convicted him to death sentence."
The article in Rzeczpospolita "From the courtroom" is about the Brzeg prison guard Herman [rather Hermann] Tohner who acted cruel toward Poles and other auxillaries who were inprisoned there and who also got convicted to death.
Please don´t cut off parts of the text in future.

Re: War crime trials Poland 2
Can you help as well with this article (only "Kara Smierci dla renegatow"):
Re: War crime trials Poland 2
1st case: The county court in Gniezno did sentence in it´s external trial in Mogilno the Polish Blue Police member Novak, who took part in the mass executions near Mogilno. Novak also took part in the preceding action [catching of people before their execution] in the surrounding villages performed by Germans.
2nd case: The county court in Racibórz sentenced the SS-member Pawel [=Paul] Manderl do death. Mandel tortured Polish prison inmates in Kietrz and hit Poles for using their mother tongue.

Small correction:
Correct name (according to the article) is Pawel (Paul) Manderla.

Can you help me as well with this article (sorry for the bad quality of the post):
Re: War crime trials Poland 2
" The deserved punisment is awaiting ethnic Germans [Volksdeutsche]
The county court in Mława did sentence in it´s external trial in Działdowo to death:
1. The ethnic German Herman Czullkowskie [= rather Hermann Czulkowski], who handed during the occupation a number of people to the Gestapo who did hide before the German authorities.
2. Oskar Berga [rather Berger], persecuted Poles, took part in their resettlement from their home, handed over to the German some Poles.
3. Herman Dominik [rather Hermann], who out of hate towards them did beat Poles and offended their patriotism.
All convicted got stripped from the court from their civil rights forever and their possession seized."
"Also to death sentence got convicted by the county court in Elbląg the SS-man Jan Wirkowski. As the investigations brought up that, though of Polish nationality and a Polish citizen, he joined the SS and worked as overseer for forced Polish laborers in the Luftwaffe workshops in Elbląg. On this place he did show his anti-polish attitude, persecuting/agonizing Poles and haunting them on every step."
