FOUNDING MYTHS...
As far as I know the only Thoughtcrime in the Bundestablishment is Denial of the Nuremberg trials and their take on the Holocaust. In any case, if a democracy is not actually a hypocrisy, freedom-of-speech must be respected.

Re: FOUNDING MYTHS...
Considering the Reverend’s obvious obsession with “Thoughtcrimes Laws”, his knowledge of what those laws actually look like is woefully scarce.Scott Smith wrote:As far as I know the only Thoughtcrime in the Bundestablishment is Denial of the Nuremberg trials and their take on the Holocaust. The wording of the most infamous provision of the Strafgesetzbuch, introduced in 1994 if I well remember, is the following:
My translation:Siebenter Abschnitt: Straftaten gegen die öffentliche Ordnung
StGB § 130 Volksverhetzung
[…]
[…]
Emphasis is mine.Seventh Section: Crimes Against the Public Order
StGB § 130 Incitement of Popular Hatred
[…]
3) Who publicly or in a meeting approves of, denies or plays down an action of the kind described in § 220a paragraph 1 [Genocide] committed under the rule of National Socialism in such a way that is likely to disturb the public peace, will be punished with imprisonment up to five years or a fine.
[…]
Got the picture now, Reverend?
Restrictions of freedom of speech are incompatible with democracy, but they don’t make democracy into a hypocrisy. In any case, if a democracy is not actually a hypocrisy, freedom-of-speech must be respected.

I know that Toben did six months in jail when he visited Germany merely for running a Revisionist website in Australia. And Rudolf remains in exile and in hiding or he would be in jail for his Rudolf Report. Sorry, but you are trying to defend the indefensible, Roberto. Thoughtcrimes laws are the death rattle of democratic values.Roberto wrote:Considering the Reverend’s obvious obsession with “Thoughtcrimes Laws”, his knowledge of what those laws actually look like is woefully scarce.

Re: FOUNDING MYTHS...
What am I defending, Reverend? The fact that I consider it silly hyperbole to give misguided public order provisions an Orwellian dimension does not mean that I support such provisions. As you very well know.Scott Smith wrote:I know that Toben did six months in jail when he visited Germany merely for running a Revisionist website in Australia. Democracy, despite many flaws, is alive and kicking - however much some would like to see a Führer replacing it.

Well, I guess billions-and-billions, as Carl Sagan would say, is protecting an investment in dollars that could be considered silly hyperbole. Or not?Roberto wrote:What am I defending, Reverend? A guess worth even less than other silly hyperboles and nonsensical assertions the Reverend keeps throwing around. And that is saying something.Scott Smith wrote:Well, I guess billions-and-billions, as Carl Sagan would say, is protecting an investment in dollars that could be considered silly hyperbole. The frustrated Reverend's nonsense is becoming even more unintelligible than it usually is. The poor fellow should get some rest.Scott Smith wrote:No DOLLAR$ involved? Really...

Thanks for the concern. I'm playing hooky today because I've got a bug. Believe me, if I could sleep right now I would be.Roberto wrote:The frustrated Reverend's nonsense is becoming even more unintelligible than it usually is. The poor fellow should get some rest.
