Hello all,
it's been a while since I've been on the forums here, but I just wanted to add a comment - I'm not sure if it is against the forum guidelines or not - but this thread has been an excellent read.

As a Croat I am very pleased to see people who are neither Croats or Serbs searching for the truth and doing proper research - noting bias and questioning certain sources as true historians do.

I am currently trying to dig up my information on Mile Budak for those who are interested, otherwise I think the rest of this thread speaks for it self.

As a serb that´s born in Sweden I got some answers to chetniks, germans and Ustashas. One thing I know that the serbian people has suffered a lot. I´m not saying that other people hasn´t. I know that in my family there have always been relatives that have died i war and suffering and I hope that it will not happen again. My grandmothers uncle was an officer in the serbian ww1 army. He walked from Serbia across Albania to reach Corfu in the great retreat. He managed to come home alive after he was wounded. In ww2 my grandmothers younger brother was caught by Ustashas and they brought him to the concentration camp Jasenovac, he never returned. He´s name is on the list of murdered people in Jasenovac. I got a friend, his family lived near Jasenovac. The Ustashas killed 35 people with the same sirname as my friends, they were all his relatives. My wifes grandfather who is almost 100 years old talked about the killings by germans in Kragujevac, they took whole schools to a hangar and people on the street. My wifes grandfather was a child at that time, the caught him and his brother. The germans said that some german soldiers had been killed so serbians should pay for it. They also said that it was 100 serbs on 1 german. Think that they shot 2000-3000 people not quite sure about it, they killed my wifes grandfathers brother. The grandfather was the luckier that day. He also grew up without a father, cause he lost him in ww1 (Salonica front). I also had some losses in this last war. You got some good reading in the book "The forgotten 500" by Gregory freeman about chetniks. Think that it´s based on personal stories by american pilots that was rescued by the serbian chetnik general D. Mihailovic. Personally I think that there were alot of allies between germans and chetniks in Bosnia cause the chetniks couldn´t fight with partisans, germans and Ustashas in Bosnia. In Serbia on the other hand the chetniks had only the germans as an enemy. There´s a difference of where the chetniks fought, it was a guerilla war so the communication wasn´t great between all fractions. War sucks!

This was all to blame on the Karadjordjevic dynasty who went against Nikola Pasic's wish to include Bosnia, Montenegro and parts of Dalmatia into an independent Serbia and leave the Croatians and Slovenes to battle it out themselves with Italy. There's a well known saying in Serbia, that we win the war but lose the peace.

You would like that,wouldn't you?You should be ashamed.Serbia occupied their own ally(Montenegro) who practicly saved your army from Austro-Hungarians.You didn't want to protect nobody,you just snatched the oportunity to enlarge your teritory.

Don´t know how old you are or how much you have read history. After the ww1 Montenegro´s parliament decided to build a state with Serbia (Kingdom of Yugoslavia). They expelled their King Nikola, and said that Montenegro will not survive without help from their serbian brothers. Montenegro decided on it´s own to be a part of Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It wasn´t so that Serbia went in with it´s army.

The sad thing about threads like this is, that some people cannot understand that questioning mere numbers, or not accepting a biased "ever innocent supervictim"-status is not the same as denying atrocities.
