That's a well known far-right site and the information should be treated accordingly.

Re: Survivors of explusion of Sudeten Germans
My father's brother was in his teens right at the end of the war when he heard loud over the airwaves Benes' voice shouting "TÖTET! TÖTET! TÖTET (KILL! KILL! KILL!) over the airwaves, urging HIS countrymen to eradicate the Sudeten Germans.

Though I don´t appreciate websites without a correct impressum (publishing information)ReinhardH wrote:[...] Nothing right wing about the TRUTH, meine lieben Freunderln...
Re: Survivors of explusion of Sudeten Germans
I know nothing about the site whether its left or right wing.
Always like to hear accounts from veterans and people
living through experiences that we hear about.
How would a website give correct publishing information?
I assumed it was just people giving their personal accounts
most likely unpublished?

The pro-Nazi documents under the "Archive" button is a hint.Annelie wrote:I know nothing about the site whether its left or right wing.

Okay, thanks!
Now I know.
Now I know.
Re: Survivors of explusion of Sudeten Germans
Uncle does not lie, and neither do I. Too bad neither of us are 'officially published', therfore what he says must not be true, right? So just wait until the old people who were witnesses are dead and gone, and then the path will be clear for history to be rewritten and 'officially published' by whomever?Though I don´t appreciate websites without a correct impressum (publishing information)

Re: Survivors of explusion of Sudeten Germans
Let's get back on topic.
Re: Survivors of explusion of Sudeten Germans
Annelie wrote:[...] How would a website give correct publishing information?[...]
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impressum[...]An Impressum (Latin "printed", from imprimĕre "to print") is a legally mandated statement of the ownership and authorship of a document, which must be included in books, newspapers, magazines[1] and websites[2] published in Germany and certain other German-speaking countries, such as Austria and Switzerland.[...]
E.g.:
Source: http://www.doew.at/Impressum:
Website des Dokumentationsarchivs des österreichischen Widerstandes
© Dokumentationsarchiv des österreichischen Widerstandes
Wipplingerstraße 6-8

Telefon: +43 1 / 22 89 469 / 319
Fax: +43 1 / 22 89 469 / 391
e-mail: [email protected]
It tells me who is the owner of the website and is responsible. I like to know who stands behind the content of the website, and I sure dislike websites who work anonymous.
Hope you understand now what I meant, Annelie.
And now back to the topic.
Re: Survivors of explusion of Sudeten Germans
I DO understand what Annelie meant; how can one "substanciate" memories of people who were there at the time ?? but no other witnesses or others who would remember, dead or old and / or incapacitated.
I have many "war"memories, I cannot "substanciate" .
Oh well this is going off topic again.

Re: Survivors of explusion of Sudeten Germans
I guess some find the stories hard to believe, and hard to imagine humans can do that to other humans. Not just that, but months and years after the war? Anyway, for those who doubt, there are millions that weren't around to tell their story. I don't like posting this one, but if you have a good stomach take a look.

As this is leaving the original topic I am referring further discussions on the fate of the ethnic Germans in Czechoslovakia to the existing thread at http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=31943
