If I'm reading this NY Times correct the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum released a more complete list of all ghettos, slave labor sites, concentration camps and killing factories the Nazis set up throughout Europe. That list numbers a staggering 42,500 physical locations. It includes 30,000 forced labor camps, 1,150 Jewish ghettos, 1,000 prisoner-of-war camps; 980 concentration camps & 500 brothels filled with sex slaves, and thousands of other camps used for killing the elderly and infirm, & performing forced abortions. I have never heard of organized 'sex slave brothels' associated with 'Jewish problem.' Can these numbers be right?

Thank you very much, Sir. This subject remained largely taboo in most studies. I've found a picture of Heinrich Himmler inspecting the camp brothel in Mauthausen/Gusen and few short article in Wikipedia with some leads for further reading. I'm guessing this will be no easy search.

If you are restricting your research into English language material then you will not find much.
Probably will not find much in UK or US archives.
The only publication that deals with the history and myths of brothels in wartime Nazi occupied Europe is
Robert Sommer, "Sexuelle Zwangsarbeit in nationalsozialistischen Konzentrationslagern" publ. Ferdinand Schöningh, Germany - I don't have the publication date to hand but certainly within the last 10 years.
Although it concentrates on the concentration camp brothels it also goes through the selection of "suitable candidates" from (mainly) Ravensbrück concentration camp for women. Deals with the German army brothels.
The book itself has almost as many text pages as footnote pages. Sommer seemingly determined to mention every possible source.
In modern times - i.e. since 2000 - a lot of research has been published in articles by German and Austrian female historians. I am certainly not try to make this a sexist point, but the these young female historians have spoken to many of the "suitable candidates", now elderly, in a way completely unopen to male historians. Not many wanted to relive or remember those days.
