Btw, Slavs in Austria do not live in some sort of self-imposed enclaves. A great many people in Austria of Slavic descent think of themselves as Germans. Like Otto Skorzeny, for one.

There were 92 (Ober)Gruppenfuhrers present on Himmler's speech in Poznan. Does anybody have their names?

Albert Speer and people of the Organization Todt were in these meeting too.

He denied any knowledge of the Holocaust but before his death was of public domain his participation in this meeting and a short visit to Auschwitz fabrics.

I wonder if anybody here can say how the text of this speech was derived. Was it among some captured papers, or was it copied from a recording of the entire speech?

And how can one listen to that entire recording?

I have questions about this speech because it has some transitions in the section about the evacuation of the Jews that are quite jarring.

From Himmler's speech:

We don't know when that will be. When the mass man arises on the other side with 1 to 1.5 billion people, then the Germanic Folk with its, I hope, 250 to 300 million people, together with the other European Folks, for a total of 600 to 700 million people, on a perimeter extending to the Urals, or, in one hundred years, extending over the Urals, will carry on its battle for life against Asia. Woe, if the Germanic Folk should fail to resist in this struggle. That would be the end of beauty and culture, of the creative power of this Earth. That is the distant future. That is what we are fighting for: it is our duty to pass on the heritage of our ancestors.

This was of course Himmler's fantasy. There was never any possibility that the Germanic peoples would increase to 250-300 million people, or that the European peoples would increase to 600-700 millions. By the 1930s the European birth-rate was already dropping steadily compared with what it had been dsuring the 19th Century, and the post-war "baby boom" was simply a balancing of the abnormally low birth-rates during the Great Depression and the War. Even if Germany had not been defeated, the decline in the birth-rate would have continued due to increasing economic prosperity, as Himmler's own economic experts foresaw and has been borne out by the actual course of history.

However, it is interesting that Himmler included the "other European folks" in his fantasy of a "Brave New World", a racial paradise extending to and beyond the Urals. One wonders exactly which European peoples he included in the fantastic prediction of 600-700 millions. Presumably not the Russians, judging by his constant labelling of them as an enemy.

Fascinating. Until now I've only seen the extracts of the speech on the Jews and the anti-tank ditch digging Russians.
Does anyone know approximately how long this speech was in the delivery of it? (perhaps 3 hours?). I remember the Jeff Hill website. He had amassed a lot of really interesting historical material including papers by the Ahnenerbe. I think he was a "Neo-Nazi" from Australia or New Zealand but I'm not sure.
