First of all, I am not sure if this is the right section or even forum. So I apologize if this question doesn't belong here and maybe a mod can move/delete it.
So my question is how did Germans in 1948 (the average German, the commited NS, the press, the top industrialists . ..) react when they learnt:
•That Jews, without foreign help, had won in 1948 a war against Arabs (who were much more numerous ).
•That a Jewish state was going to be established in the Levant.
In 1948, most Germans still held strong anti-Jewish opinions and were very nazified.
The Jewish victory surprised many people. Plus according to NS propaganda and antisemites, Jews were a (physical ) weak nation and unable to be good soldiers and during WWII, Germans had tried to ally with Arabs against the Jews (and the Brits and the French ).
How did Germans react to Jewish victory over Arabs in 1948 and Israel establishment ?
