The Leather coat could also be rubberised like a motorcycle riders

Unfortunately, that's not true, the man wore a rubber armored so-called "motorcycle coat" with no trace of leather.

The german "Kradmantel" is the topic, sorry.

Real leather coats were something for officers, very often bought privately, non-commissioned officers and enlisted men could not afford such coats.

The photo is horrible, I can't think of anything please.
