Uslar i or Oberoda
Uslar i or Oberoda
greeting
I'm wondering if you can help me locate the camp
Uslar i or Oberoda
Namely, grandmother (Yugoslavian) was in those camps so I was wondering where they were,
All I found was near Göttingen and that she worked in the wood industry
There were plenty of Poles there,
Sorry in my bad English
thank

Hi Robertino,
here is "Oberode" and "Uslar":

Some information (you need to clock on the triangles) about the camps in Uslar. To me it seems that she did work in Dinkelhausen by the "Sollinger Holzwarenfabrik" . At least this is the only place were Yugoslovanians are mentioned specifically:
http://www.zwangsarbeit-in-niedersachse ... /uslar.htm
But on this website there is no camp for Oberode mentioned, only "Oldenrode":

Re: German Concentration Camps, Industry and War Crimes

Re: German Concentration Camps, Industry and War Crimes
In Oldenrode (today part of Düderode) Fa.Walter Lüders during the Second World War had about 60 forced laborers from Poland, Russia and Ukraine used among other things in test drilling for the extraction of lignite - he also had a joiner's workshop.
"He is said to have treated the forced laborers not well, after the surrender in 1945 presumably therefore the Americans moved with a tank through the garden and ordered to vacate the house within 15 minutes."

Concerning Osterode (there are a lot of trees..):
The Stadtforstamt Osterode had civil workers and "Ostarbeiter".
Beside others the sawmill Homberger in Osterode had forced workes since 1942 located in own small camp.
