Wolfenbüttel was in British Zone but I am not familiar with this place used for executions.
Zoddel, Hagewald, Herold, Kramer as representative of the others, are not listed as defendants before British Military Courts.

What does this mean: did denazification courts carry out death sentences?
Did they appear before the earlier West German courts?

We are both right.
Zoddel was not convicted by a British Military Court.
Zoddel was convicted by a "General and Intermediate [High] Court".
Why? Because British military courts and US military tribunals (not Cases 1 to 12) did not prosecute German-on-German charges.
Such prosecutions were left to newly established quasi civilian courts with British civilian occupation authority oversight.
Thus, Zoddel's case appears in a Foreign Office file (FO 1060/1852) and not in the British Military Court files (WO 235).
WO meaning War Office as in times of war; presently the Ministry of Defence being peace time.
I have not seen Zoddel's file but speculating here: death sentences by General and Intermediate [High] Court, being by their very nature civilian cases, may mean such death sentences were carried out in civilian prisons such as Wolfenbüttel
