I need help to ID yhis guy.

His name is Josef Bauer and he is working as a SS guard at a satelite camp to Mauthausen called Wiener Neudorf.
I know for sure that he is there in the autumn of 1944 until spring 1945.

In 1942-43 he dont seem to be a SS but instead a part of Artillerie Regiment 137

From reading some of his letters I can see that he work as some kind of economy clerk and is in charge of book keeping for Saurer-Werken. He has a realy nice handwriing so he is probobly a bit older and well educated. But beside from that I cant find any info on this guy.

I hope someone knows who he is.

Bauer seems also to be responsible for 23 SS-men of his company in Außenlager Hirtenberg (Patronenfabrik Hirtenberg).

The book Spaniards In The Holocoust mentions a SS-Oscha Josef Bauer (*21.05.1916, SS #335761) at KZ Mauthausen without further informations.
Not verified yet ..

Thanks for the info.

From the letters I have I understand that he is injured in 1944 and after that get moved to Mauthausen.
I have found this from the Nuremberg trial. But I cant find the statements to see if he fits "my" Josef.

Statement of Josef Bauer, May 14, 1947.

Bauer, Joseph June.27, 1945 SAIC/PIR66, Aug. 13, 1945; SAIC/FIR/25
