An acquaintance of mine related the story of his grandmother being the child of a German man who immigrated to Guatamala after the war.The mother was the housekeeper. All of these men, somebody somewhere knew about their pasts.

isn't this about 99% of nazi war criminals (and I'm not even talking about those who got complete joke sentences, or exonerated in kangaroo courts)

and that is why there are numerous genocides since. If the allies would have executed the everyone who was guilty of the holocaust and other nazi war crimes (probably around a million people), and tortured those who were the most guilty, numerous other genocides would have never happened.

the Nazis showed the world the worst crime in history pays off, Germany as a country didn't pay in the slightest, and almost no criminal paid anything. Future Genocides learnt this lesson more than anything else, only a fraction will ever pay, and most of those will get joke sentences.

Pretty sure the nazis had nothing to do with Pol Pots Cambodian Genocide, Biafra, Darfur Sudan, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Acholi and Lango in Uganda, East Timor, Rohingya, Yazidis, Chicom genocides during land reform , great leap forward, and cultural revolution

By the way the lessons of genocide were learned long before the nazis in Belgian Congo and Armenia

So to punish those accused torture them? how would you be any different than the SD/Gestapo then?

you missed the point, every single genocide that has almost no consequences shows the next one, why not do it, if there would be no consequences. justice in Armenia, or for that matter the massacres of 100,000+ jews during the Russian Civil war could have show there will be consequences.

Criminal acts, true Trials, convictions
The problem with nazi germany was not killing people, it was their killing innocent people, if they would have killed murderers than. The vast majority people the nazis killed did not commit crimes (like killing a murderer, rapists, burgler etc.). Even those who were killed for creating real crimes, were not given fair trials, and thus murdered many people under phony convictions.

I don't see how you can compare the torture of a Goering, to smashing a baby's head against a wall. Any torture that possibly could have been done to someone like Horst Schumann, would not have equaled the crime, this person tortured 1,000's and murdered much, much more. If thinking torturing Schumann makes me a nazi, I think we are living on different planets

This topic of Nazi war criminals who vanished and got away ran its course decades ago.
Post #1 above is from last year, 2022, that's 77 years since the end of the war in 1945.
To speculate for a moment, a "future" Nazi war criminal was probably 30 years old in 1939 to be in any kind of position of authority during the war. You can see where I am going. We are talking of people over 107 years old today. I don't believe there are many of that age still with, say, in Europe.
Yes, German justice is still prosecuting aged men and women for simply for being on the payroll of a camp despite having jobs such as teleprinter operators. But only until 2025 when the Zentrale Stelle closes having fulfilled its remit. There will be no NS investigations after that time.
There are no SS Generals or senior SS officers alive today - contrary of the thoughts of one of the posters on this subject - they were probably dead well before 2000. Though I do make an exception for former SS-Staf Martin Sandberger who died in 2010 a few months before his 100th birthday, very very fortunate to have been given clemency by the US authorities after his death sentence at the Einsatzgruppen Trial.
