WHO WAS DACHAU’S 1937 CAMP PHYSICIAN?

Question, who was Dachau’s 1937 camp physician (Der Standortarzt SS, SS Hauptsturmführer)? We recently acquired (see information below, including camp doctor’s signature) and have been in the process of identifying the signature, but so far have not been able to do so. Any help in this matter would be most appreciated.

On July 14, 1933, the German government passed, (Reich Law, 1933, Part I, p. 529) the law for the “Prevention of Offspring with Hereditary Diseases,” mandating the forced sterilization of certain individuals with physical and mental disabilities. This new law provided a basis for the involuntary sterilization of people with physical and mental disabilities or mental illness, Roma (Gypsies), “asocial elements,” and Afro-Germans.

Original hand signature by Dachau’s commandant SS Oberführer, HANS LORITZ (1895-1946). Loritz was one of the most influential and brutal commandants of the pre-war nazi camps and, from 1936-39 commandant of Dachau. Also present, are two signatures by Dachau’s camp physician (Der Standortarzt SS, SS Hauptsturmführer).

rodorr, I can see that. I tried looking up the name, but to no avail. But it does look like it could be “Dr Ginner.”

maybe Gunner or Gumer? I don't know if these are German names though.

You would think you could look up who were the chief physicians of Dachau and a list of names would appear. So far, that is just not case.

Maybe Dr Gruner?
