I'm troubled by the definition of him as a "war criminal", but if we're going with the Wiesenthal Center's list: Soren Kamm apparently died two years ago.

Re: Nazi War Criminals At Large
What is a Nazi war criminal in connection with this topic? Is this a member of the NSDAP and/or SS? Or are we saying an active collaborator of none of the two organisations is also Nazi war criminal because he committed war crimes.
Of the men in the list immediately above I recognize the name of Hubert Zafke who was recently prosecuted in Germany for crimes at Auschwitz. Did I recently read that he had died?
I am more familiar with the case of Helmut Oberlander. He was born on 15 Feb 1924 at Halbstadt, a volksdeutscher village in Ukraine. In May 1942 he was recruited locally by Sonderkommando 10a as a Dolmetscher. He was given a field grey SS uniform to wear and present at many executions, translating German commands to the victims. When SK 10a dissolved in mid 1943 Oberlander's subsequent career remains unclear but he was certainly involved in anti-partisan warfare in the Pripjet possibly with KdS Lemberg. He was captured by American troops in Thuringia in 1945 and subsequently emigrated to Canada. Having fought off several deportation actions by the Canadian government he is still alive in the Toronto area waiting for the biological amnesty.
Oberlander was not a member of the NSDAP or the SS. What makes him a Nazi war criminal as opposed to just a common war criminal?

König was an assistant to Josef Mengele at Auschwitz and helped with the selections of prisoners.steve248 wrote:What is a Nazi war criminal in connection with this topic? Re: Nazi War Criminals At Large
Was Friedrich Warzok (born September 21, 1903) ever apprehended? He was commandant of Janowska extermination camp and apparently escaped to Cairo in March of 1945.
Re: Nazi War Criminals At Large
Fredrich Karl Berger a guard at a KZ Camp was deported back to Germany February 20,2021 see US deports ex-concentration camp guard to Germany - BBC News 20 February 2021
He is the last of three WW II NAzi War criminals in the United States-the others were Jakiw Palij, who was deported back to germany to 2018 [died 2019] and the 3rd Michael Karkoc was also ordered deported..but he died at age 100 before this could happen in 2019. Others either died in US; Fled US or were deported to Europe.

AS far as I known Berger was the last WW Nazi in US
Re: Nazi War Criminals At Large

Note according to his biography at Wikipedia his latest appeal was denied
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helmut_Oberlander
If he goes back to germany...and is tried itll probably be in Junveille Court since he was 17 underage when he stared his infamous career...{A similar case of a Nazi deported back to Germany ended just this way...!)

Otto Kuckuk (*28.07.1898 Succase) is quite interestingAugust wrote: ↑28 Sep 2003, 10:51just found out this list on NARA site. thanks guys, one thing leads to another.

24 Kuckuk Otto
in 03.1933 from Polizeipräsidium Berlin to Gestapa, still there on 25.06.1935 as KS (in the 60ies with BND)
then nothing more about him in almost 10 years research
but in the Almelo-trial (24th-26th november 1946 - Sandrock, Schweinberger, Hegemann) a witness Kuckuk is mentioned
The Defence witness, Kuckuk
This witness, a commissar of police with the army rank of captain, had served in the Gestapo Dienststelle at Almelo, under Hardegen who had
only the rank of a lieutenant. He had been present when, on 21st March, 1945, Sandrock entered Hardegen’s office, full of emotion, and said that he would not do that because he was not a hangman’s assistant. (..)

Is this Kuckuk from 1945 the same man as Otto Kuckuk from 1935?
Re: Nazi War Criminals At Large
The Kuckuk, a witness, in the Almelo trial appears to have been a GFP Kommissar with an army rank of Hauptmann. His statement could have been self serving to avoid incrimination.
I say that because Otto Kuckuk was involved in the shooting of SPD politician Hermann Bebert in Sassnitz (Rügen island, on the Baltic coast) on 3 May 1945. Then appears as a BND employee1 March 1963-31 Dec 1966. Nothing after that date.
KOS Otto Kuckuk with RSHA IV E6 is noted on 8 March 1940 "z.Zt. bei der GFP" (BAB, R58/240).
Whether all these Kuckuk's are the same, I do not know.
