Something new (or maybe Old) is going on in lithuania on the subject. Vilnius university is accuser of supporting stetement that the killes were comminists on the Run. Will try to find out more. Found the info on the site lithuanian jews. (Not to well known for its accuracy in My opinion
)

All images are available in the Bundesarchiv photo collection http://www.bild.bundesarchiv.de/cross-search/search. Search for Kowno 1941.
One picture, dated June 1941, shows the corpse of a Jewish woman in a synagogue. I'm not sure it's related to the massacre at the garage.

last two pictures are from vilnius. Good quality resolution on all. More convinced than ever that the death dealer is wearing a wig.

I don't know about the wig, personally I think the photos are just very contrasted. The Bundesarchiv has the negatives for some of these pictures. The bad reproduction is probably the result of extensive exposure to light over the years. Looking closer at the death dealer I think he's wearing a necklace. It's definitely him in the other picture with the large crowed gathered, where he seems to be swinging the rod at a body to the right.
